Not those two performances being the best of Katy

They still don't compare to the other performances

You pulled out 2 videos where her voice was nice, but I mean she still wouldn't get through to the public vote in American Idol serving those vocals. She can sing nice when she isn't doing basic choreography  I want more.

That^ I'll agree with. Katy's got pretty average vocals but when she's toned down and not flailing dancing around on stage, she's pretty adequate

The only performance of her's that I actually liked was this one:

This video that isn't embedding :rip:

Now you are just sugar-coating and are trying to take away from the fact that Katy does have charisma, star quality, and stage presence. Her vocals were pass an extent that would get her the vote of American Idol. Coreagraohy is the art or practice of designing sequences of movements of physical bodies in which motion, form, or both are specified. So thecnically, in those two performances, she is doing a choreography AND singing live in front of others.

No I'm not at all, why would I bother? If she has all those things great, but she still looks wooden and lacks any presence in part because her live vocals are not up to par. She doesn't have the talent to draw me in.

I'm not exaggerating about the American Idol comment. These are some female bottom 3 performances:

This is the first girl eliminated season 1:

You know she doesn't have the vocals of a Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood or even an Idol loser like Jennifer Hudson.

Oh please, lets not. We both know what is meant by choreography in this context. Fantastic she can walk and sing at the same time, that isn't some amazing skill. Most people can move around while singing.

If you are still going to somehow cling to Katy being a great performer then there is nothing else to say. If that's where you draw the line for a great performer than that's where the bar is for you.

Any unbiased person can tell that she didn't look wooden or forced in those two performances, and in lots of her other performances.

Did I say that her vocals are in par with the ones you named? No. I just said that her vocals in those performances are enough to at least get the votes for the first few contests, not wining an entire season, considering that she is walking and jumping around the stage. Contests like Amerian Idol look for technique, technical power and on-point vocals.

Really? Why won't you walk & jump around in front of bunch of people while singing a song as hard as Firework, a song that has lots of [fast] pitch changes & high notes and requires an actual breath control in order to be properly sang. And coreogrpahy is coreogrpahy. Don't try to give it your own twist.

I don't think I'm really bias against Katy, I just don't like her as a performer

She can have all the success in the world it doesn't bother me, people can love her music and that's fantastic and people can love her music videos and her fun, carefree, non serious humorous work. Great! It just doesn't work when someone calls her a great performer, that's objectively false.

I showed you contestants bottom three performances. I showed you contestants that barely made it into the finals. Katy would get past the first auditions but she wouldn't get into the live auditions round, she wouldn't make it into finals, her vocals are just not that good which means when that is her greatest strength as a performer she hasn't got much.

Why am I suddenly the standard of singing and performance? That's nonsense. I'm comparing Katy to great performers not to me. I never claimed to be a great singer or performer. the only one trying to twist anything is you. You know what we were talking about by choreography. We are not talking about walking on stage, we were talking about dance choreography. From the very beginning of this conversation that's pretty obvious when I was criticising her voice and her dancing. You know I wasn't asking for a video proving Katy could sing and walk at the same time, you know how silly that is, you know that anybody can do that. I mean of course Katy can walk and sing, what is your point? She cannot perform dance choreography even on a basic level and maintain her at-best-adequate vocals.

I'm not impressed with your videos of Katy walking and singing in a nice voice. She doesn't reach the standards of a great performer. She lacks the skill, she lacks the stage presence. We might as well leave it because you are not going to change my mind with some videos of Katy standing or walking while singing with a nice voice. A nice voice just doesn't cut it when that is your main talent. Conversely, I'm clearly not going to change your mind by providing you with videos of actual great performers for comparison purposes.
