I think it is because he will probably end up selling a million albums this year, and few artists nowadays accomplish that. Also, his tours do very well. Also, his tours do very well. Well, I guess I showcasing a bit of delusion there. I just do not care for him as an artist. People are always gushing about his looks and that is why he sells the records he does. Also every single song is the same. Ed, Taylor and Meghan are not adult contemporary, especially Meghan! Were pickings really that slim that the definition had to be stretched? *looks back over albums released last year* Ok, maybe pickings were slim and I know they only nominate the stuff that was vaguely popular, but really? I notice, though, that looking up the definition of the term, it's extended into a kinder way of saying "easy listening" these days. Sounds more like an insult than a genre! Alabama Shakes not being nominated for Best Pop/ROCK album is more of an American tragedy than 9/11. I'm SO sick of the sh*tty industry y'all have no idea. Why is Best Pop/Rock album a combined category now with only pop albums nominated? I refuse to watch this trash. Just as bad as the VMAs if not worse. It makes me so sad since I grew up on country music and there are only a few mainstream country acts I can respect nowadays. My older sister on the other hand eats whatever Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, etc. feeds ha. It's tragic how country has it's own pop crowd now. What a disrespect to the genre in my opinion. All they care about is partying and it makes country music seem so disposable. Sorry for the rant lol. Have a nice night fellow Little Countryster. You know, I would not mind the pop infusions if the subject matter was actually worth something. I love how newcomers think words like "Baby" "Girl" "Beer" "Chevy" "Tailgate" etc...make them a country artist. Country is all about storytelling, and we have lost that.
