He probably was given the virus thing the countess has to live longer with no signs of ageing as long as he is also a hemophiliac and drinks blood. That might be why Iris is still in the hotel? She's there to always keep an eye on him and to work for The Countess as long as she lives. That would also explain when she said "well you can explain to her why they still taste like sh*t" referring to those two girls' blood. She sounds like shes literally working for The Countess as one of the people to get her blood. In season 1 the ghosts couldn't leave the house. Yet we saw Donovan in the graveyard. I would say he almost died and The Countess "changed" him to be what she is... Then Kathy bates pushed Sally from a window in a fit of rage.Gaga appeared at the end over his body basically saying she wants to hump him, so she sires him and he's alive again but as a vampire. Because Murphy said that the same rules apply to the ghosts this season as in Murder House in which they could only leave the House when it was Halloween. Donovan went with Elizabeth to the cementery to watch the movie which a ghost couldn't have done unless it was Halloween (was it?!). Sally on the other hand is a ghost and can't leave the Cortez. River 117,121 Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 He's not a ghost, a ghost can't go outside of the place that it died and we saw him going to the graveyard and also he was disturbed by the light when Will Drake opened the curtain.Donovan now is the vamp like Elizabeth Germanotta the countess of pop, jazz and horror. jxckk 959 Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 he isn't dead, he's able to leave the hotel, if you remember, in season 1, the ghosts couldn't leave the place they died. violet was running around the house trying to leave and she just ended her back at square one, which was the murder house. donovan has already been to the graveyard and can walk freely. i imagine the countess has somehow passed on the virus she has to him so that he is able to live again. the only one we know that is 100% a ghost, is sally. she died on the premises so she will not be seen outwith the boundaries of the hotel.
