Manul 7,377
I'm praying for more songs like Dope. Imperfect perfection. Haters gonna hate, pressed as they are. it wasn't laaaahv
Versace 7,959
An interesting take on her comments from one other forum:I'm no expert but I think she's saying she wants to do darker, imperfect stuff. She feels that songs like "Just Dance" are too sweet and "Bad Romance" is too perfect; she likes "Dope" and tracks from "ARTPOP" because she believes they weren't perfectly dark. However, she thinks that nobody really wanted that - everyone wants to see perfect darkness or just perfection itself. So she is trying now to create stuff that has the right balance of perfection and darkness, which is why she likes Hotel because the imperfections win out.If that's the case, then I'm not complaining that muchI said something along the same lines on this threadand how TFM was a dark album with an uplifting approach , it was Gaga facing her monsters instead of running away from them, it was Gaga showing her bravery over her fears and that's what she means is showing the side of her that is perfect the side that does not give in where as on Dope and some other tracks we see the aftermath of Gaga's choices in life that seem to haunt her and she admits that they got to her. I guess it's true to an extent some fans become depressed if Gaga is it's the infectious nature of music like i said. So i think Gaga is insinuating that she is gonna remain brave and positive for the next record for us and her loved one's, as we all believe in her and she knows that. Dexxx 1,393
I believe in what Gaga is doing, she's genius, she very talented. So If that's what she wants, to listen to other people what they want to hear in her music, I'll have to agree with her. Gaga may have a different perception about perfection, so y'all should stop complaining. I know Gaga is not just a 'basic' artist. All I ever wanted was 🅻🅾🆅🅴
arthurhmangum 4,408
I don't really care about image. I just want good music. We need a balance of both light and dark music from her. Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.
monketsharona 80,650
Gaga should know Dope has been a Hot 100 top 10 Whatever, I got what she meant. ARTPOP was too edgy to be liked by most people (I'm not counting her fans of course). That album had very loud and rough sounds that were not really a thing anymore when she released her album (especially loud EDM). ARTPOP may have been successful in 2012, at the moment she originally planned it to be released... However, I think people should stop associating commercial to rubbish pop music. Gaga already had big commercial hits without being a complete generic mess. You can consider her TF or TFM hits generic now, but at the time it was released it was quite new or different to what was released on radio at that time. Then Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and so on made dance / EDM. She definitely settled a trend in 2008 / 2010. I think Gaga can easily mix both quality and the commercial aspect, like she used to do during TF, TFM and BTW. I think Gaga needs to do catchy songs and to bring something fresh to pop music. arthurhmangum 4,408
There's so much more to life than dark or sad moments. There can be a couple on LG5 but let's go for fun disco dance songs like I Want Your Love Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.
ShockPop 7,747
I didn't specify 1989, but in general, Taylor Swift mostly moans in her music about being screwed by men, haters hating, people being trouble etc. It's not exactly positive material. Supersonic 49,376
Also what I think rubs many the wrong way here is that Gaga doesn't consider Bad Romance as the epitome of her work like the rest of y'all do. Matter of fact she kinda implied that it's kinda generic and shallow.
liz89 373
Oh Gaga... Reading this makes me a bit sad. I think she should write and sing whatever she wants. I'm here for all kinds of music and I liked Dope. As I already said a few times, I will never understand all the hate it gets.
BricksNStrings 231
Well guys, this is what you get for spending 2011 through 2015 complaining about Gaga's output every time she releases anything, and screaming "bring back TFM-ga!"
Clip 5,100
And she looked really happy during this whole year... I hope that "molding" herself to be popular among the GP doesn't mean doing normal performances or stop wearing strange clothes
NewYorkCity 10,536
Erm.. Am I the only one getting it as what she is saying is that people want perfection but she has learned with AHS that imperfection is beautiful? So, bassically she is saying that she is goint to keep doing things like she wants even if they are not perfect pop because imperfection is also beautiful?Well, anyway, if I am wrong or I missunderstood it.. that's what you get if you are always complaining about her not being GP/radio/charts friendly enough with her music and lyrics... and askung for 2010Ga to come back. NewYorkCity 10,536
You guys are not getting , she is not saying that she is going to make basic happy records to please others , Heck No. Just Dance and Bad Romance were breaking boundaries they were her art and what she believed in and it just so happened they became immensely successful. To every human there are many emotions many shades to express what is deemed your imperfections are the painful parts of you and what is deemed your perfection are the brave parts of you. What Gaga is simply saying is that she is going to express the brave parts of her she's gonna be Brave and happy for us, music has an infectious nature a song like Dope could evoke negative emotions such as sadness and regret. What Gaga is trying to say is she's gonna remain positive and in an uplifted spirit for the next record cause it's what we all want , we all want Gaga to express the brightest parts of her i mean alot has happened her and Taylor , C2C, AHS. She is mostly in a happy place. What was so great about TFM was it was a dark album yet it was an uplifting approach as Gaga faces her monsters instead of running away from them , LG5 could be the same Gaga resisting the pain instead of giving into it. I think Gaga has what it takes to overcome anything i believe in her and she has to believe how perfect she is to us. oh ok, I flopped. this explanation is perfect
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Why would she choose ARTPOP as an example when she has BTW and TFM that has personal and dark songs too? It's science, bitch
Clip 5,100
And if gaga really care about mainstream success that much why she need to put much effort on C2C or doing it on the first placeI thing CTC's intention was to keep her away from the main focus of attention for a while, (where everyone is paying attention to everything you do to talk trash about it) while doing "relaxed" things she loved and where she couldn't be hardly criticized, because she needed a rest after the ARTPOP critics.
