We know Gaga, the way she expresses herself sometimes can give us a wrong impression. It doesn't have to be outright to have meaning, it can be metaphorical. Some of my more deeply personal songs are also some of the most marketable pop ones.She shouldn't have used Dope as an example. I think Gaga is capable of connecting pop and meaning in music as unanimously respected, acclaimed and meaningful as Chandelier. Dope just gives a negative connotation to the idea. They are both smash pop dance hits that belong on pop radio favored format, maybe she wants to go different, but is shy of losing her fans from going in a new direction? Gaga please please please don't sellout and be just another popstar. Be an artist and stand by your work. I just can't believe she actually said this. Confirms my doubts on Gaga's image as this fearless bad b*tch when in reality she is very insecure when it comes to her music and she craves the applause (as if she didn't spell that out for the world with Applause lol). It would be kinda upsetting and worrying if she feels like she can't put certain things into her music because of what people want from her. Next week she could feel completely different. Haven't y'all learned anything from following Gaga for years?This is exactly how the extremely artistic and talented people I know in real life are. (And I'm not talking about people who sing a little or write poems or write music reviews for their personal blog) They are constantly thinking, creating and changing because they have big ideas, but they keep adding to them or changing them. Stop freaking out and just wait! See what Gaga ends up creating. A month from now she could be in a completely different headspace! Who knows?
