Like I want to repress everything from that era, minus the album itself it's a solid album. Not her best, but solid. I think ARTPOP is just a result of all the hate that was building up on Gaga from TFM and BTW and of course ARTPOP itself I agree so much with this! Media was already all over her in a negative way before ARTPOP ever came out. Everything from the meat dress on started the hate train rolling and it crashed when ARTPOP came out. Fans here complain so much about that era, but looking back on it... I'm shocked that it did as well as it did, tbh. Thankfully, Gaga was smart, talented and resilient enough to come through it all and continue to find ways to impress and express herself as an artist! We just need a hit single to get her another peak it's seriously going to continue forever, when LG5 comes out, maybe less when LG6 is out, but i'm sure some media outlets will just have to reference it. I know many people here still love it but ARTPOP will go in history as a failure. The bad management and chaos in 2013/2014 only made it worse. That said, altho it was a failure in many eyes, it gives Gaga the opportunity to create something much better then ARTPOP. It's harder to top albums like Born This Way and The Fame Monster, then to top your worst album yet in the view of the GP.. It isn't about our love for the album, it is all about a good story. A girl from New York breaks into the pop scene, becomes extremely famous and then falls from her throne. Now she will rise like phoenix again and regain her place in pop music. People want to hear that and people who once loved her, will love her again. Just like the paparazzi video. I think you nailed it. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. jojuun 4,159 Posted October 8, 2015 Share Posted October 8, 2015 Well, I am one of "those" people that was here for ARTPOP originally but just wasn't invested in giving it my attention after awhile. The era was messy, anyone denying that can log out because you know it's true. I know a lot of you really loved ArtRave but to me that was the true low-point of the era. It just lacked the structure of her previous tours. The Monster Ball, to me, remains untouched. My entire problem with the era is the structure and overall cohesiveness. She likes to change it up, but "I'm every icon" and 35 outfits/hairstyles don't work in world were people respond well to one-look-per-album structure. Gaga during TF, TFM and BTW also switched it up, but there was overall cohesiveness. FameGa went from Malibu Bronze Barbie to Couture Queen but it worked, it was in synch with the music and it was a clear direction. ARTPOP lacked all of that. It was unclear where it was going and no one besides us was here to hear about reversed expeditions. 2015 has been amazing so far but I pray for clear art direction and messages for LG5.
