What's up with the 'Telephone' hate?

I love it! It's one of my top 5 fav Gaga songs. I will never understand the hate towards the song. Whenever I go running, its one of the songs I have to listen to to get my energy up.

I also believe she said she doesn't exactly hate the song or video, but the process of completing the song was so stressful that she 'hates' it for that reason.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

lolwut telephone sucks tbh. it sticks out of TFM like a sore thumb and almost makes no sense being on the album. the story she even tried to give behind the song for the album seemed contrived. The only thing that saved the song was the music video, and even that wasn't enough imo

I really don't know how to feel about the telephone era. The song is fun and dance worthy, but it's far and away one of Gaga's most uninteresting songs. The video is also really fun, has eye-popping visuals, and features some really great, signature Gaga fashion. But it's also sort of unrefined and something you could place very easily as having come at the beginning of her career, when her artistic vision wasn't as lucid as it is now.

It's my least favourite Gaga song..

And I just feel like they forced her to record it for The Fame Monster, it doesn't fit at all.

THIS. for me personally, i dislike the fact that it is on the fame monster, it should be on ARTPOP instead, it belongs to the wrong album

about the song itself, i dont really like it, but i dont hate it

about the video, i love it, i love the references and such

Oh I love Telephone. My friends and I had so much fun listening to it back when TFM came out.

Probably because it's simple, straight forward and can't really compete with the other tracks with more lyrical depth on TFM (like So Happy I Could Die, Dance in the Dark, Bad Romance and so on).

Personally I like it, but I don't love it. However when taken in with the video & the Beyonce feature it's a fun moment, a perfectly executed piece of pop froth. It's actually refreshing to get something like this from Gaga from time to time stuffed in between the darkly ambitious stuff. I feel the same way about Fashion!

“I hate ‘Telephone’. Is that terrible to say? It’s the song I have the most difficult time listening to.” -LG

Everyone quotes that out of context. In the interview she follows explaining it wasn't the song itself, it was just the most difficult song to record and produce (for reasons she didn't elaborate on). I took from that that hearing it just brings back stressful feelings, not so much the song itself.

I think Telephone is fantastic. It's very "Gaga" to me, and fits perfectly in The Fame Monster. I couldn't imagine the album without it.

It just doesn't feel like a Gaga song

like it feels like a Katy /Nicki /Taylor /Britney song

It's a big hit for the general public but not for me

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
