I can't deal with the responses in this thread defending Madonna. I love her but she did wrong and she should pay the consequences,regardless of how YOU feel. Y'all would be feeling another type of way if it were any other artist besides Madonna. I'm out.

Oh lord what a mess of a Madonna bashing thread. ALL The haters just come here here with their BS and doesnt really even care about The artist NOR to cHeck any facts...

Firstly, he should Sue The "artist" who made The Madonna versions. That is The violation here. Madonna's team collected The pieces used in The video through submission conpetetion. Anyone who submitted their work also have rights for The use of them. Therefore Madonna's team doesnt have to check anything. IF someone has submitted Material that might infridge someone's copurights, its The submittors "crime".

Then we come to copurights laws. Yes its unlawfull to use copyright protected Material without promision for financial purpose. However, in this case wouldnt really be that. She isn't selling The video anywhere and The tour/concert is NOT centered in anyway around that small backdrop NOR is it in anyway The " selling point" of The tour or something that would be concideted a significant part of The show with great importance. That affects when a court consideres whether it is used in a manner of financial gain. Then also there's so called QUOTATION RIGHT which allows one to use small parts of any copyrighted materials. Im almost certain this would Fall in to that right. (There are spesific rules for these)

THIS IS THE REASON ITS POSSIBLE TO MAKE MONTAGE ART! You see this pretty much everywhere. Other musician, news, magazines.. Its not just now a single case of M commiting a crime. Jeesus with you ppl!
