Trump slams gun free zones, defends 2nd amendment

Trump said in a rally in suburban Nashville that he has a handgun carry permit in New York. He added that any attacker will be "shocked" if he tries to assault him, and that he would emulate Bronson in the vigilante film "Death Wish."

"Can you imagine with Trump, somebody says, 'Ohhh, all these big monsters aren't around, he's easy pickins, and then ... pu-ching!" Trump said to laughter and applause. "So this is about self-defense, plain and simple."

Trump criticized "gun-free zones," saying that the Oregon shootings could have been limited if instructors or students had been armed. He said better mental health care would help curb future shootings.

"Many states and many cities are closing their mental health facilities and closing them down, and they're closing them because they don't have the funding," he said. "And we have to start looking much stronger into mental health."

While Trump warned that "no matter what you do, you will always have problems," he argued that it doesn't make sense to limit access to firearms.

"It's not the guns," Trump said during his hourlong speech. "It's the people, it's these sick people."

He also criticized President Barack Obama's comments in response to the shootings as "divisive."

"I'm a very, very big Second Amendment person," Trump said on Saturday.

Sure, carry a gun everywhere so you can defend yourself. Wasn't America the land of the free? What kind of freedom is that? Soon people are gonna be fighting with bears and burning thieves at the stake.

The government needs to do something, about guns or crazy people, but do something.

They better pay those teachers way more if they want them to carry guns! This is one of the more ignorant ideas I've heard in this gun control argument 

Teachers will need to go through months of training too, to get fully prepared to face a situation where some crazy sociopath with a bullet proof vest comes in with an assault rifle and clips that hold large amounts ammunition. Yeah...your standard kindergarten teacher is going to be prepared for that situation.

UK has gun control laws. They also have less incidents like this. They must also magically have less crazy people right? Since conservatives keep blabbing about how this is a mental health issue. Must be the universal health care they hate so much. 

Or let's talk about Australia which saw these types of incidents be reduced after they introduced gun control laws. MUST be that the crazy people suddenly disappeared too.

Why would you need to carry a gun everywhere? I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to, I'm saying that we shouldn't have to. We shouldn't have to be prepared for a shooting, it shouldn't be normal.

But I was discussing what Trump said. He says that horrible things happen everyday and that's it like if it was normal for a country to have shootings at schools every three months.
