I really didn't think that was a problem in university campuses.

Ummmm.....

Ever heard of fraternity parties? Obnoxious dorm guys who dont know when enough is enough? When theres 24 hours a day... 7 days a week to access to your female counterparts?

I rest my case

TBH I hate parties, I could live my life without them, and one of the reasons I skip them it's because of that... however I do feel like victims are also in need of discipline... It's easy to prevent that stuff from happening if you take precations.

Didn't your mother ever tell you: Don't take a drink without watching the bartender open in in front of your eyes. Or... Don't go to the bathroom without your friends.

Common sense much to me...

And if someone forces themselves, well, that's just rude and thankfully it doesn't happen to me, thank Jesus.

blaming the victim on anything that could happen to them is the most disgusting thing that can come out from a human being who has a minimal of morals, empathy, and maturity. So I am not even going to discuss with you.

Well I don't need you to discuss with me, I think that victims can do things themselves to prevent the situation, you seem oblivious to the fact that many teens are just walking airheads.

He's got a point. Im not disregarding the importance of the issue i believe it is important and has to be taken seriously but both parties including potential victims have to put in effort to prevent such atrocity from happening. It's our duty to protect ourselves but offenders certainly are the main ones to take the blame.

It gets very dangerous when people start talking about the victim having responsibility... thats blaming the victim.  In a perfect world we would all shine a flash light at the boogie man and he would go away wouldn't he?  Life isnt quite the sandbox you're used to.... not for others.

As individuals we assert ourselves by trying to have a voice. Have an input , because we see something we think we can fix. The fact is none of us have the answer. Its the awareness that matters. So anyone trying to shut down that conversation is simply a road block.

Sometimes its better not to speak on matters you know little to nothing about.

Until youve been in that person's shoes, you dont have a place to tell them what they should have done. And quite frankly even if you were, it still wouldnt be your place.

I expect much more out of this community than uneducated replies about rape culture than what ive seen. And quite frankly its beyond unacceptable.

It's 2015 and some people still want to blame the victim...

A woman or a man could be in the middle of a bar, butt naked, legs open. If they do not openly consent or if they say no, then whoever forces s-xual contact with them is at fault.

We shouldn't tell people to be careful what they wear or how much they drink. What we SHOULD do is tell people not to d--g, take advantage of, nor coerce people into having s-x. The idea that rape is anyone but the assailant's fault is disgusting.
