It seems to me this was not meant for the customer to see. In the back of the house the communication was between the cooks and whatever lingo they have among themselves. It is what it is. If the food server had been aware then this note should never have reached the table.

Managers and owners have to do whatever they need to in order to smooth over situations like this.

Yeah, it might have been an inside joke and never intended to have been seen by customer eyes.

But what about the other people?  The people on the coins and bills?  Of which they'll be losing if they make this mistake much more.  What happened to reserving your comments and judgement in order to run a business and make money?   And keep the customer happy?  :hunty:  I mean, a lot of business relies on repeat business.

Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others. -Socrates

Christ we want to be victims so badly

Yes. The inevitable result of PC victim culture which encourages taking offense over petty stuff.

Poor Asian kitchen staff probably aren't well-versed in PC sensibilities. Reminds me of reading that other days about a "racist" ad in Hong Kong that caused great furor, because they accidentally said they wanted a "Caucasian" when they meant "native English speaker"

... Racism is systematic. This is not racism.

Is it a stereotype? Yeah, sure. But it's not racism.

I hear the "systematic" line so often that I feel the need to drop some actual definitions of racism here. I couldn't find any official definition that said racism must be systematic in order to qualify as true racism, so I think people who say this are manipulating the word  to fit it to their own personal bias in a dishonest way. Granted that systematic racism is definitely a real thing in America, but that doesn't preclude other forms of racism that is not systematic in nature (prejudice, stereotyping, so on).

Google Definition:

The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

Merriam-Webster:

A belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

Racial prejudice or discrimination

About the actual topic: I think the customer is overreacting to a small insult, but it's clearly unprofessional to put insults of any kind on your paying customers receipt.

Negative stereotyping can be offensive, but must reasonably people wouldn't see an negative in preferring mildly spiced food.

Though it no dumber than blacks getting offended about being associated with friend chicken and watermelon, when such food are widely enjoyed and not seen as negative. Poor Mary J Blige got crap from black SJW for advertising a chicken wrap for Burger King.

The most offensive thing is how dumb they believe the world is to accept their terrible excuse :later:

This is more unprofessional and annoying than it is racism.
