It's not a big deal but it's still a(n unwarranted) generalization based on race, definitely not in a joking spirit. If we want to remove racist poison from society, these things count as well.

No one's crying racism and oppression. There's a difference between stating that this is unacceptable in a work place, an unacceptable way to treat your customers, borderline racist (and if you're serious about combatting racism, these mild forms count too or you surely are one embarrassing person involved in social justice) and crying out that you're a victim of harrassment. Even the man in the article didn't do that.

It's just annoying when people include you in generalizations that have no foundation. Surely people of color should find it in their hearts to relate to this basic experience of human existence too. This is not even about race, it's about people treating you like a ****ing joke for no reason in a place that should be protected from that nonsense.

If you choose to deform what happened and choose to not relate to what's on the table, then I can't take you seriously but then again it's hard enough to take you seriously on any thread about this matter, so..

The feeling is mutual, I can't take your pseudo-philosphical ramblings that you get caught up in every now and then seriously as well because the only valid opinion and experience you see is yours which leads to you coming up with responses like the one you just wrote.
