Sam Hunt was a philosophy major and a college football player when he became interested in being a musician. After an unsuccessful attempt to pursue his interests in football, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start a career as a musician/songwriter. After writing for other artists, he decided to be a solo artist. Thus, Montevallo, his debut album, was born. Montevallo was a huge hit in the country world, along with the singles "Leave the Night On," "Take Your Time," and "House Party." Sam Hunt was noted for incorporating R&B, hip-hop, and electronic in his work, making his music appeal to people who don't usually listen to country. While Sam Hunt only released one album so far, he's shaping up to be a major player in the country world.

He's also very hot.

MY fiance actually saw him in concert a few months back. I like a few of his songs, not many though. I don't like country that much, but his music is okay. He's pretty good looking tho.

Does anyone know about the mixtape he dropped in 2013?

Unfortunately, it's no longer available to download. You can still find the songs on YouTube tho. It's very interesting to hear older versions of tracks that ended up on Montevallo.

It's also cool to hear the tracks that didn't end up on the album.

You can also hear four of the songs on Spotify under the EP called Acoustic Mixtape.

Thank you Poof for making this beautiful thread. Hope there are more Sam Hunt fans here to come. 

 

The first time I fell in love to his music was when I accidentally listened to Take Your Time. I was really intrigued by the song bc it has a talking part at the verses that really fits the song well.  I knew his not making just a straight up country music at all,  he's mixing it to RnB and Hiphop. His genre is just perfect for me bc RnB/Hiphop are my most fave genres followed by Country so I easily got hooked to his album. The meaning of TYT also intrigued me bc it sounds like just about having one night stand to a girl he met at the club but it actually has a very conservative and respectful meaning. He's really a real man to me. Then I listened to Speakers and boom, I totally fell in love to his music. 

 

I am now looking forward for his next album. Hope he snatched some grammies next year.
