I don't like TIHTY and Dope at all (actually, I'm really disappointed in TIHTY). I hope she will change her approach to ballads. She better use her Oscars vocals rather than annoying TIHTY vocals.

Totally agree, @totodile, the live versions are way better than the studio ones, for example I prefer the acoustic version of Speechless (that concert where she's wearing a purple dress and a hair bow)

Her ballads are very Gaga. I wish Americano would have been a ballad though

Edit: I wish her ballads were a bit more flow-y (sorry for the word choice). More experimenting with time and more dynamics. She takes a very pop approach to it (but I guess she's a pop singer Lolol)

Currently listening to Joanne

Is that the VEVO thing?

Bette Davis

I know this is a Christmas song so its a bit random, but from 2:35 to the end her voice sounds superb. I prefer when she shows some restraint instead of yelling, grunting and grinding. I'm not vocalist but her technique seems very impressive to me in this song. I think her ballads and jazz would sound better if she focused more on technique and less on blunt force. Just my opinion though :green:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

I like all of her ballads except for "Til it Happens To You." idk... something about the melody and how she sings it irks me. I love the instrumentation tho.

I hope Gaga starts employing a more ethereal or lowkey way of singing ballads. If Mariah and Xtina, two powerhouse vocalists, can pull that off, then so can Gaga.

Huh. I guess I never realized she doesn't really have a soft ballad. You could argue that if Halo is a softer ballad then Brown Eyes is too. Both have softer verses and harder choruses.

Head Empty

This is a great ballad too, even though it's not an original song of hers. Imagine vocals like this on a pop record :gaga:.

She has a rock star approach to ballads.

Her ballad could be easily sung by one of the (male) rock legends and that's awesome. :applause:

Was thinking the same thing actually, I connect to Speechless and Yoü & I so much, Dope and TIHTY on the other hand not so much :/

i hope she'll experiment a bit with the dynamics of her ballad and also i'd love to hear a more fragile vulnerable voice from her

We need a timeless and relatable ballad from her.

LG5 better serves a "someone like you" sized slayage
