Media praising Gaga for her red carpet look

Some of y'all need to calm down. It's just one red carpet appearance, it's not like she's changing her entire career to conform to the public.

I don't get it.  To be what some people here want means they want her to conform to what they want all the time.  Maybe she is wearing exactly what SHE WANTS.

It's the Emmys, which is the Oscars of TV.  She was going to be sophisticated, not outrageous anyway.  But the fact that she went even further and was practically the only person on the red carpet not in a gown with her tits out makes her completely unconventional.. The focus was complete elegance to a bygone era and all focus on her face and hair, no boobs or slinky gown or bright gown to distract, just classic lines.  The fact that she shocks people by being iin this ensemble is true to who Gaga is, unpredictable.   I call it genius.

the most amazing thing about her is that she's able to pull off literally THOUSANDS of crazy looks - even this relatively demure, conventional look... and still have the same *Essence* of Gaga, regardless whether she goes out looking like this...

2015 has been the year where the world has slowly fallen in love with Lady Gaga again.

I cannot wait for AHS and LG5! Everything is perfect lately!

She better work for a release for as soon as that Season is done... or else.

Yep, this. To all the people complaining that they don't like the certain things about certain looks, the great thing is is that Gaga changes drastically monthly or even weekly. Don't like blonde hair? She'll probably have it brown in a few months. Don't like her bleached brows? She'll have them black within half a year. She's the queen o' pleasing the peasants.

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

precisely. she'll probably be looking completely different in 3 / 6 / 12 months. who knows what she'll be up to this time next year.

yeah, i would say she's been looking healthier and happier ever since the beginning of the ARTPOP era, but especially since last year when the C2C era began... this last year or so, she has really gone to the way next level of being a mature, self-confident queen.

GUYS.  Stop.  She is also promoting her DEAR FRIEND's clothing line and wants him to get as much good press as he can for his CLOTHING.  This isn't about her artistic integrity or 'lack thereof' just because she looks conventionally beautiful... she is literally just doing the dress and Brandon justice by not having a WIG ON and STUDDED BROWS.

It's really not that deep.  :kissga:

This.  She really is a classy person, and I'm glad the world has been getting to see that.

It was the sheer anticipation of what Gaga would wear that made watching the red carpet such a joyful experience, so if I post an image that wouldn't really be the point. I personally prefer radical and avant-garde fashion, something like the designs of Leigh Bowery or Nick Cave.

Like...if she wore a wig made of cotton candy with some Mexican kids on leashes behind her, snacking on her hair, as a comment about Donald Trump...I would be happy.

i personally find it just as exciting to see how gorgeous Gaga is going to look

That sounds like something Brooke Candy would do. :smh:

I think as outré as Gaga can be at times, there's always been a sense of tradition about her. Like for example when she performed for and met Queen Elizabeth she covered up and sang a ballad at the piano (whereas Miley on the other hand wore booty shorts and performed Party in the USA).

I personally think being strategic about when to make a statement is preferable to doing something weird all willy nilly, otherwise she would just seem tone deaf and tiresome.

Most of those outfits (with the exception of that messy/grotesque Linda Perry costume) were to worn during the ARTPOP promotional cycle, which was my point, it's been a long while since she has embraced radical fashion.

Three of them are from june 2015.

Notice it is the three most recent outfits you posted which are the least outrageous. The black ball gown from the Met Gala is very tame by Met Gala standards. The sheer dress and attack of the Birds head piece may be strange, but certainly not by Gaga standards. And there is nothing outrageous about her looking like a chunky goth girl in an ill fitting red velvet blazer.

But yes, the inflatable sea urchin dress, the George Sponge Bob Washington outfit, and the faceless Yeti are examples of looks that I adore, which she hasn't done in a long while. She clearly focused on being a Lady and not being Gaga.

I don't know who Brooke Candy is, but if she mixes fashion, performance art, and political theater then I'll have to check her out.

But, when Gaga performed for the Queen she wore a latex Elizabethan dress and performed on a massive Salvador Dali inspired piano, that isn't comparable to her LBD tonight.

We and Gaga deserve all of this praise, after all the hate they threw on us in the past years.
