Trump thinks vaccines cause autism despite the fact that there isn't good evidence for that. They need to cut down the candidates... I can't take half of them seriously: Huckabee, Walker, Christie... Honestly Rand Paul looked desperate for the 1st half of the debate, and I don't even know why he was on the main stage when he was polling in the 1%. Donald Trump blew it with his lack of getting into specifics. "We're going to do it! (I don't know how, but we will)!! America." Everyone else did fine I guess. A few others i didnt know as well i thought were decent PS: loved Carly totally owning Trump on the whole CEO debate because she gave good reasons and circumstances regarding her firing and struggles as CEO at HP (.com bubble, troubles in that sector at the time etc) while when she got back at trump for claiming bankrupcy 4 times for his casinos he couldnt say squat Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

This debate was a bit too long that bugs me so much about Trump ughhh. all talk but no real solutions like half the time I do like his ideas on taxes... im a right-winged myself... i think taxing rich too much and regulating too much does discourage entrepreneurship, business investment and risk taking... however taxes dont have to be totally flat tax as some candidates proposed. The rich paying a few percentage poitns more wont kill investment or hard work and can be beneficial. I think Carly and Bush are going to go up and maybe...just maybe Trump will go down. I didn't think Carson had a good night. I also thought Christie, Rubio and Kasich did pretty well overall. The videos were misleading, and the additional backlash that has followed has also been misleading. PP is legally allowed to sell fetal tissue for medical research. They are not allowed to profit from it. They can only sell it at a price that covers the procedure and shipping. In addition, federal funds are not used to perform abortions at PP. pie-kun 1,765 Posted September 17, 2015 Share Posted September 17, 2015 I was only able to watch the first 90 minutes of the debate until I had to leave, but here were my impressions:-Trump started out strong pummeling some of the other candidates but it wasn't long before he was taking a lot more than he was giving out and he got hit pretty hard by Carly at one point and appeared visibly flustered. He also still is not giving out any specifics on any of his plans, it seems like most of the time he gets asked for details the answer boils down to "I'll just do it" and I think this is starting to catch up with him as he rarely seemed to get much applause after the first 15 minutes or so. He needs to start detailing some plans now if he wants to be in it for the long haul. Overall I thought he was weak in this debate although it's hard to say what this will do to his poll numbers as they seem to defy expectations. He was also weak in the first debate yet his numbers actual hit a new peak afterwards. -I thought Carly was the winner of the debate. She had good energy, got a good shot off at Trump and she was very forceful without going overboard. Debating seems to be her strong point and I expect her to start taking some support from Trump and Carson.-I thought Ben Carson was one of the big losers of the debate. He probably had the lowest energy of all the candidates, he was almost borderline mumbling at times and as a result it was easy to get lost when he was talking. Overall he let the other candidates overshadow him and I think it could hurt the momentum he had been gaining over the past few weeks.-Bush did OK I think, he got some pretty good jabs at Trump but other than that he came across rather boring and establishment, which is sort of what his image is anyways. I was having a lot of fun listening to Huckabee talk down to everyone about the same-s-x marriage decision saying "I thought we learned this in 9th grade civics" yet he was going on and on quoting the dissenting opinion to make his point. Funny because I learned in 9th grade civics that the MAJORITY opinion is the only one that matters when it comes to the law, dissenting opinions hold no weight.Overall I disagreed with most of what every candidate said but then again I'm left-leaning so it didn't exactly come as a shock to me.
