Kayla 7,595
For the people claiming "Gaga is a POP artist, not a ROCK artist," bear in mind she was making rock music before she did Pop. The first song she wrote as a child was inspired by a Pink Floyd song. She performed to rock music, her first songs before she put out The Fame were pretty rock-inspired, and of course the rest of the evidence we have scattered throughout the thread and in the OP.She's even been quoted as saying she was singing Jazz before Pop, so even saying she's "always done" or is strictly a "Pop" artist is flawed. Judas Oyster 1,915
Wow, well documented argumentation points, Didymus It would be nice, but we'll see :)
PartySick 161,039
I'll just leave this here...... Notice how this version sounds completely different from the album version? .... THIS IS NOT ELECTRONIC MUSIC....... It's ROCK. YAAAAASS Swine live is my favorite thing ever, and this is my favorite performance It shows what RockGa can be capable of. I don't mind you back tracking, because that's the point I was making all along. She hasn't ever stuck to one genre, there is no reason she should now. Twist the knob more rock, or more funk, or more metal. I'm all for it. I'm interested in what she could do with funk and rock. Her songs have always had a slight element of pop no matter what genre they fall in, I'm hoping she moves further away from pop for LG5 and gives us something that we've never really heard from her You're stinky
HighwayGuy 1,498
There is definitely not going to be a metal album coming out, her label would not let her I really think this next album will be rock inspired though, full of power ballads and upbeat songs using a guitar instrumental (RedOne and Morodor are perfect for this)

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I'd be fine with rock ballad an acoustic songs. I believe she said something about that once. But we all know pop will forever be the genre she'll focus on. And don't forget that pop is a VERY broad term.
Versace 7,979
it's not happening , we got many confirms that it's a POP record but i am expecting a rock song or two on LG5.
Bitter 3,640
I hope not. I would be here just for some beautiful power rock ballads, that's all.
Jay.P 2,336
I totally forgot that Reddit AMA Do you hear that? It's poison.
Sizzily 14,543
yes because using examples of her snarling, growling and screaming practically = good rock music no thanks. My point still stand she can't sing anything rock, just because she's a rock fan doesn't mean she can sing it. She should stick to her electronic music for her pop career Not you putting her in a box. Remember Swinefest? Tears in the rain
Schizophonic 7,015
gaga said about the born this way album that its heavy metal-techno-stadium rock influenced. gaga said about TFM that it was eastern europe-berlin-underground-industrial sound influenced. and she was absolutlely true, there are all those influences and vibes but at the end of the day it was still a pop record and so i really think its going to be the next time too. as i said before, i would really like to hear her in a 90er rock influenced but futuristic sound like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcK698FmjZEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FB_N_o1FO0
RegiRey 443
I hope its just rock influences in her pop music and not full on rock tbh
sipthistea 21,099
I hope what you said becomes a reality. There are big expectations for this one. Even bigger expectations than ARTPOP's. I can imagine Gaga doing a song like this one from Rammstein
Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
One of the shots that goes by way too quickly in the beautifully directed chaos: Rammstein song in her character teaser vid + "AHS will inform my music" + Her AHS lover seems to be a total glam rocker + "I have returned to (...) the art of darkness" + Abundance of metal shirts in the course of months now + + Her mentioning she wants to be the "next Iron Maiden" in a magazine interview for the first time ever + Her mentioning people really underestimate power of metal culture in the same interview + Her actually wearing a Maiden shirt for the photo shoot + Her performing six different rock songs live (two with the rock band actually on stage) in 2014/15: 1. What's Up (performed multiple times at artRAVE + at the Songwriters event)2. Another One Bites the Dust (with Queen + Adam Lambert)3. Ordinary Love (with U2)4. If I Ever Lose My Faith in You5. Imagine (not really a rock song but John Lennon's still a rock god)6. Whole Lotta Love (at artRAVE) + A duet of Bennie and the Jets with Elton John during her Muppets special(& we know she's still holding on to an Elton John duet for a few years now if I'm correct) + Her saying that during C2C she can finally display her voice, after years of Interscope's meddling (rock/metal would be a fantastic outlet for her voice) + Till It Happens to You: power ballad style, completely new use of voice (which already divided her fanbase) + Gaga actually said there would be a lot of "glam rock influence" on ARTPOP, this might be an early idea that got canned because of Troy/Interscope/... because there really isn't anything (and no, not on MANiCURE either, don't embarrass yourself) + An unconfirmed fan report of Gaga, backstage, saying she was recording power ballads + "I'm actually also a metal dudette, worked at a metal bar for years, and was a go-go dancer at rockn'roll clubs. Last night when i got my tattoo of the monster paw, I was listening to Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica, AC/DC, Judas Priest. (...) On other nights, i like to slug whisky and scream Bruce Springsteen and Garth Brooks with my dad in the bar at his restaurant. I have a lot of different sides to my personality, but even MORE different sides musically" (2014 - Reddit) + Chose to answer the question "what's your favorite metal song" on Reddit: Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath (2014 - Reddit) + Dressing up, clearly inspired by the classic glam metal look, in an interview a month before artRAVE ended: = MetalGa for LG5? Let me live in my temporary, soon-to-be-ruined illusion pls I'll live there with you. Can she duet with Sharon Den Adel? That would be nice! Didymus 34,380
I'll live there with you. Can she duet with Sharon Den Adel? That would be nice! Omg stahp My heart. That would be the most epic event of my life. For the people claiming "Gaga is a POP artist, not a ROCK artist," bear in mind she was making rock music before she did Pop. Ran out of likes, but Amazing post, really. gaga said about the born this way album that its heavy metal-techno-stadium rock influenced. gaga said about TFM that it was eastern europe-berlin-underground-industrial sound influenced. and she was absolutlely true, there are all those influences and vibes but at the end of the day it was still a pop record and so i really think its going to be the next time too. This is a great post You're right. I think many people got the impression that with RockGa and MetalGa I meant a 100% metal album but I was really referring to era aesthetics, general sound, attitude, theme,... Which is why: There is definitely not going to be a metal album coming out, her label would not let her I really think this next album will be rock inspired though, full of power ballads and upbeat songs using a guitar instrumental (RedOne and Morodor are perfect for this) ^ I think this post is without a doubt the most we can accept without being stupid.
