Bebe 17,289 Posted September 14, 2015 Share Posted September 14, 2015 This could actually be huge when it comes to gay marriage.Tony was trying to pull a swift one and create a plebiscite vote which would have made it harder for gay marriage supporters to win and would have made it extremely tough to overturn if they lost. It would have also meant the issue would be put on the backburner until 2017.This will lead to a new election and hopefully gay marriage will be a big social issue discussed. (Not in the US sense - against the monarchy) He is more progressive than most in the liberal party, but I think the conservative pressures will numb him a bit.
