Spock 20,290
Uh, please. The Speak Now World Tour was performed in very small-mediocre/average sized venues in Europe, with the capacity of 3-9K. The only decent sized venue in Europe which that tour went to was the O2 in London with the capacity of 15K. With that being said, the box-office gross of the tour was the lowest from Europe compared to other regions which she performed in. Yeah, and? This was in 2011 with a local country album, and the fact is that she sold out every single one of those venues. And the attendance of the Speak Now World Tour has nothin to do with this, it's clear you have nothing else to say, and you lost. So stop trying. who will love me when the night is over

Are we talking about Speak Now Tour (A freaking country album) or 1989 Tour? Speak Now was from 2011, when Taylor was still growing in the industry. Stop being delusional and pull out receipts from 1989, which is TOTALLY a local album isnt it?
LoveandMagic 1,731
Not that some of these meltdowns aren't fun, but let's not forget guys, these numbers are good for everybody! I knew Madge had a great tour record, I just didn't realize how great she was/is doing (and at such expensive ticket prices)! And Taylor's numbers keep astonishing me, she is slaying HARD this era! At the end of the day though, it really doesn't matter who "beat" who, all that matters is A) did the tour make money (for future touring) and B) was it fun? I think both Madonna fans and Swifties will both say they had a blast at each respective tours. Both women are professional performers and are known to give their fans EXACTLY what they want! Keep rocking it ladies! Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
superman 32
Congrats Taylor!I find it hilarious that Katy stans are coming for Taylor's numbers when Katy and her record label awarded her with sales certificates combining singles sales streaming and all that just to get a decent number! The so called local act will outsell everybody s tour sans Madonna with less than 90 ( I think) dates. She has sold out stadiums in Asia, Australia and North America. Then she had sold out arenas in a few European countries including a London show that most global acts couldn't achieve in numbers. That's practically 4 continents. But yeah she isn't global. She basically sold almost the total of the global Prism s sales outside the US.

You were the one who started babbling about the Speak Now World Tour and how it sold out shows in Europe. Of course you get mad once I mention that the venues that she played in with that tour in that region had small-average capacity. Attendance and box-office gross has everything to do with this, as it just goes out to show that Taylor was never as popular or well-known in Europe even then as you claim. You were the one who quoted me when I wasn't even addressing your ass. And no, I did not get mad because I told you twice, now three times, that she sold out those venues back when she was country and local. And that's the point Yolanda she was able to do that back when she wasn't as popular or well-known in Europe (which I never claimed she was in 2011 anyways), and it proves that the demand is there for her to tour now, on top of her current European touring receipts. Now stop quoting me and go do your math homework. who will love me when the night is over
boyerased 2,886
The denial. She's not local at all. This is coming from someone who's not from the US. She might not be as big overseas as she is in US but she's still pretty big outside. No need for receipts. Plus I think she's not done announcing tour dates yet. Wait for the Asian dates. She's like dethroning Avril in loyalty here.
jojuun 4,159
Listen, it is incredible what Taylor is doing right now. She's getting so much acclaim, sales and revenue, it's insane. But it's her first pop album that was majorly hyped and pushed. Her demographic seems to be very young too, let's wait to see how she does with a lesser hyped era/tour before we claim her to be the new queen of anything. I like her, but let's be real here, she isn't a veteran performer yet. Look at Beyoncé and Madonna, they are 100% dedicated to their shows and do perfectly synched performances with vocals and choreo. When Taylor slays a dance routine and can pull off amazing box scores without a hit album, we'll declare her up there. Madonna did those numbers with a "flop" album and Beyoncé did it with no album backing her up, it was pure name based for both of them. THAT is true touring power, people buy because they KNOW that regardless of current hit singles or not, the show will be amazing anyway. Taylor hasn't done that yet, yes, it is absolutely amazing but there is no difference to me between Taylor selling out arena's and stadiums and One Direction selling out arena's and stadiums. Both of their audiences are young and it's a temporary success because once the target audience matures, a lot of them won't stick around. Madonna and Beyoncé avoided that with their original hype because they evolved together with their audience. Yes Taylor evolved into a pop artist now so it's unclear to say what the future hold for her audience wise. I hope she's able to evolve and experiment and really push forward something artistically challenging. A second Max Martin album about love isn't going to do that. alestevens 118
I look at her overall success. Chart positions for her singles, excluding Shake It Off, were tragic. She doesn't tour Europe (¡¡worldwide act without Europe!! ) or attend any kind of show + she didn't make impact at all outside USA. There are MANY artists who's album sales overseas exceed Taylor's 3M and they still aren't worlwide acts (for example, Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour sold 6.5M copies outside USA; he double's her; and he isn't a worldwide act at all; at least for now). She sold out her shows in North America Asia: She sold out her 2 stadiums in Japan She sold out her 2 Singapore dates in around a day or so She sold out her 3 Chinese dates in a little over 10 minutes combined and she still holds the fastest sellout in Chinese history with the Red Tour (1 minute) Australia: She sold out / is close to selling out all 5 stadium dates and her other 2 arena dates there. One of these stadiums is the biggest stadium in Australia and promoters confirmed we are looking to 70K+ people in there! Europe: She sold out all her arena dates in the UK She sold out her Hyde Park date in the UK (it was a festival): 65k+ people She sold out her 2 Germany dates: 27.5K people according to Pollstar Her 2 Ireland dates sold out in 55 minutes Her Netherlands date sold out in 20 minutes By the way, Sam Smith hasn't sold 6.5M TOTAL yet, let alone outside of the US. Perhaps you may want to look up for real receipts instead of pulling them out of nowhere next time around! EDIT: By the way, Madonna is still the queen of touring and she will remain being so, i don't deny that!
me069 284
Incredible how a woman that just looks beautiful, with average singing and decent lyrics can surpass Madonna and all our faves. Y'all better step it up! Well, Taylor's biggest plus right now is probably that she's so young. GP loves young artists. And Madonna's singing is average at best. I mean I respect her for all the success she has achieved through the decades but she's far from a good singer
