I think that's a gimmick to promote their brand, I mean how the **** would a battery life storage change from a software update? A battery is a hardware and once its inserted in the phone nothing can change it unless you change the battery itself. Software can disable parts of the hardware that are not being used, and that makes a big difference tbh, but it actually got worse. I have iOS9 now and I had 100% 4 hours ago and now I'm at 35%, even though I didn't use my phone that much.
