Skyfall was so high profile because Adele had written it, performed it and was back when she amassed all that huge hype. The movie was also breaking box office records and saving MGM from bankruptcy. Tbh I don't see all that happening for this song, also because the script leaked back when the Sony hack and everybody hated it. Bond songs are rarely that huge. I think it's going to be big of course but not as big as Skyfall. What happened to Ellie though? Knowing the tradition, excluding Madonna, where all the theme singers were all power vocalists, Ellie wouldn't have a chance in the first place. And again, I'm not saying that Spectre won't be as huge as Skyfall, it probably will since Skyfall grossed over a billion on the WW box office, but people were skeptical of the casting choices and the script was not well received.The Best Original Song Oscar is hard to predict. Songs that are predicted to win for sure, don't and songs that shouldn't have won, win, it depends on the year. To be honest, I would be much more concerned over See You Again than Writing's on the Wall.EDIT: and the song was noticed, all the major Hollywood publications were reporting on it. Just because the normal GP isn't aware of it does not mean that the voters aren't. I mean, Lady Gaga is attached to it, not some random unknown.
