DiscoHeaven23 35,007
I was looking at JLo's discography and reading up on her and realized JLo's relationship with Ben Affleck seemed to ruin her promising career. In 2001-2003 JLo's career was massive. She racked up 6 top tens in those two years (3 of them #1's). I guess towards the end of that time, the media frenzy around their relationship started affecting their image negatively. And then in 2004, when they split, it REALLY upset JLo and she took a break from her career. She finally came back in 2005, three years after she released her last album in late 2002. But the GP didn't react to her like they used to, she earned one Top 20 hit from that album and had no other songs reach the top 40. Her next album, released in 2007, performed even worse. On the Floor brought JLo back some success in 2011, but it didn't stay around too long. I kinda feel bad for her and I hope that one day she'll see the success she used to have. I also wanna say "First Love" was one of the greatest songs of 2014, and deserved way more success than it had. Here's a list of her Mainstream Top 40 Radio hits. You can see based on the numbers, where the split up and break occurred. Goosey 3,017
Don't know why Louboutins wasn't a hit. She had to pull it from everywhere. Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Her music since her 2005 "comeback" has been terrible. On the Floor was the only good song she's released since then and she keeps running to Mr. Worldwide to replicate its success. And what solidified her demise was that Tragic Partition knockoff she tried to do with Iggy.J.lo is not a real artist; she sees the entertainment industry solely as a business model and it has brought her much success. She's a great dancer and some of her movies and songs are cute but that's about it. You can't survive in the entertainment industry for long on minimal talent. She should just stick to her business ventures and quick romcom box office bait. It's science, bitch

Riot Poof 2,236
Not trying to diss a fellow Puerto Rican, but her more recent music isn't all that exciting to me. I assume others feel the same. Also, Pitbull. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

RAMROD 104,173
As far as I'm concern, her career is not derailed. She is never mega famous but everyone do know her.And enjoyed her music. She was taking hiatus after marriage with Marc Anthony. But she rose up fast with her come back single, On The Floor. She changes up her direction as the Hip Hop/R&B tunes she usedto do in the early 2000s wasn't most favorable in the early 2010sPeople chose EDM more than any other genre at that time. That is mainly why she doesn't seem that everywhere anymore. But she did. As ever, she is more well known for her s-xy body than her music. Her iconic green Versace dress will forever be a part of pop culture history. But these days paparazzis have Kim Kadarshian for that.J.Lo's musical career and acting (mostly in rom-com flicks) helped her making banks. So she is good tbh. craig 680
In 2004, JLo was 35 which is getting old by Hollywood youth-obsessed standards. Getting a massive hit at age 41 (On the Floor) and 15 million a season to host Idol a was pretty decent achievement.Beginning with her 2nd album, she became the queen of rap-sung collabs, which isn't the healthiest basis for sustained album sales. Her music was kind of generic, with crappy album tracks not as good as the singles. Plus she was too old to be a Britney-type teen idol..Still, what's impressive is how she made the most of what she had. Outlasted Xtina. Shows that hard work and good decisions can get you further than musical talent.

She's doing a final season with American Idol...she's still acting in movies...she has a HUGE fragrance empire...she's aging the way women her age WISH they could age...she dates and sleeps with whoever she wants...she's not suffering and her career if anything has been very successful Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
