Ffffff the EXCUSES in this thread. No henny, you're not some enlightened music connoisseur who "understands" Miley's "deepness," sitting up on your pop Mt. Olympus deeming the rest of us too simple because we don't like this album. It was a terrible album. Anthony, who has heard more experimental and challenging music than any of us ever will, saw right through the attempts. As P4K said this album is self-serving, not only for her but for her fans who like to now think of their music tastes as eclectic because they've listened to an album whose boundary pushing basically amounts to using two fart noises instead of one.

His reviews are almost always negative, keeping that in mind, this review wasn't that scathing.

"Listening to Bang My Box made me want to become a born again Christian, reclaim my virginity, and live the rest of my life as a s-xless husk." That seems fair.

Funny that he said the song 1 Sun was a Gaga rip off, it's the only song on the record I like, and I didn't put that together.

 

 

He gave the Idler Wheel a 9/10 though 

 

I'd love for him to explain how that record could be improved. It's 10/10, no discussion.

saying it's a terrible album is a silly and unfair thing to say. Some of us actually really like it. Music is something different for everyone. It's all a matter of opinion, but there is not need to be so hateful and bitter.

Tbh the whole concept is very similar to ARTPOP which is strange

I think that's a big reason why I was so interested in it. The literal meaning of "music, not the bling" meets "peace-loving, non-hippie" and I can dig it  

I'm not feeling the heavy pot theme  but I like it nonetheless  

I also like how Miley gave ARTPOP some credit, saying that her VMA hosting (and performance, I'm assuming) was going to be ARTPOP inspired, so it's obvious she has some level of respect for it

I like both tbh. Dead Petz seems like a modernized throwback to the kind of music my grandparents listened to while I was growing up
