It really does feel sonically like a mixture of BTD and UV. Does anyone feel that?

Yeah. It has the instrumentation of Born to Die and Paradise (the strings + the electronic beats) and the tempo of Ultraviolence (downtempo and midtempo).

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

I will not tolerate such disrespect for Terrence Slays You and Huntymoon

I still like them both though you little b*tch

....

But seriously, this is the first time I've liked every single song on a Lana album straight off the bat so this is incredible.

I couldn't get into Million Dollar Man, Yayo and even a few on Ultraviolence on my first listens but all of these have impressed me

I was expecting the Interlude to be the end of the mid tempo tracks but The Blackest Day came and it's one of the highlights of the album, and mid tempo

The more I listen, the more it becomes apparent that the production is nothing like UV, and isn't totally like BTD, but she was spot on when she said the influence was more similar to her debut release.

I hear some slight touches of Ultraviolence in the productions, particularly with the treatment of her vocals and the atmospheric effects. Also some of the guitars are quite UV, but overall it definitely takes more cues from Born To Die with the beats and the strings, and it works so well.

Y'all can't be putting down Art Deco like this. Are we listening to the same song?

Just listened to the entire album and it was incredible. I love every single song (especially Salvatore, The Blackest, and 24), but I do agree that the cover of "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a weird way to close out the album.

It would've closed out better with "Swan Song" as the closer...OR (my fantasy preference) with "Life Is Beautiful"

I wish I could listen to it again but I have work tomorrow and need to get to bed

If higher quality leaks, could someone drop it off in my messages so I have a treat to get home to?

How do you guys think this will fare critically? Metacritic score predictions?

Tbh, compared to when she first came out when she was widely panned, nowadays, critics seem to eat up anything she releases. So I feel like it will fare particularly well.
