MIC : Taylor swift is deeply Fake

Whenever there are criticisms of a popular artist, everyone likes to do the whole "media tearing down an artist" thing without actually addressing the points.

I agree with a lot of this, she does seem fake. She's literally like the popular girl at high school who's just friends with EVERYONE. The way she drags all her 'friends' around with her is quite uncomfortable. "It's becoming harder to see her friends as anything more than props boosting her own superstar status." The accuracy in this...

It started when she began doing that thing at award shows where she would get up and dance to literally every song performed, and now she has everyone and their mother performing on her tour etc... I'm sorry but it just oozes a lack of authenticity. She's the ultimate name dropper.

She has this whole girl next door image with the Tumblr and the cats and the yay I love pizza!! thing, and it's all just engineered to make her seem likeable. She doesn't really have a personality, she's just hugely manipulative. I would love to see something real from her.

I already know that  btw, everytime I listen to Style, I think of you. "You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirt and a Nikkon camera with some glasses on" ?

what a compliment

This is going to turn into such a mess...*perched*

LIke, I'm not Taylor's biggest fan...not even a regular fan, tbh...but it doesn't seem to me that she changed as a person...she's still the girl she was, only now she is a completely different arena and she's trying to act accordingly...that's what the pop world is today, it's competitive, it's about what celebrity you go out with in your free time, it's about building a brand and raking up good numbers to - in a way - validate your "fandom"...I think it's bizarre that the media is trying to bash her for playing their fkn game...

To me it's just the old story repeating itself...she became too successful, so now ppl want to bring her down...I feel bad for her, bc I know how many unfair and false things were said about Gaga back in 2012/13, but it serves her obnoxious fans right...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

No, instead of trying to "act accordingly", the pop world is the way it is because people like Taylor are too afraid to stand up for what they believe in and challenge the status quo of what it means to be a musician or in  her case, a popstar, someone like Gaga challenged the status quo and redefined what it means to be a popstar, but everyone is falling back into old expectations of popstars because of Gaga's absence, and it's unfortunate. I feel pop needs Gaga more than Gaga needs pop. Gaga challenged what pop wanted her to be and expected her to be, that's why a lot of people loved Gaga, Gaga was and is her own person, we need more people like Gaga in Hollywood, not people like Taylor. :trollga:

People are so hateful. They hate to see successful women flourish. They always bring down the most successful popster, and some of you are so simple minded and fall right into it. They did this to Lady Gaga, and you people hated it. But as soon as it starts happening to Taylor, the same hypocrites will relish in it.

And you find it weird that some of us enjoy it? I'm all for Gaga's message of only focusing on positivity and only spread love. However, we saw Gaga go through this two years ago, and like it or not it's sort of a rite of passage for mega popstars. It's Taylors time and I'd like her and the Swifties to feel the way Gaga and this fanbase felt. Nothing against Taylor, she's cute and got some bops. Also she stole my man but that's another story. :flower:
