Both singles were sent to all radio formats that they remotely qualified for, and both had lyric videos and mvs and were played out the ass for the amount they were actually selling. Radio stations pushed both those singles hard...harder than any other songs that fail to stay in the top ten like those two did. Both songs were treated fully like singles.

You were projecting your fears over Katy's next era. You know that she is overexposed and was falling down with media and the GP during her last era. It will end up costing Katy her career, as she is so overexposed that people are sick of her. The media and GP are sick of her and will be coming for her during the next era.

Yeah, they were sent to radios, but they were barely played. Stop lying. Besides their lyric and music videos, what other promotion they actually had? Birthday only had a pre-recorded performance at Billboard Music Awards, that was about it. This Is How We Do didn't even have any performances. Both singled had very little to no promo.

Anyway, this had nothing to do with Katy. The fact that you turned this whole thing about Katy just goes out to show how pressed you are.

Nah, I'm perfectly aware of her subpar music abilities and mediocre vocal capabilities.

I'm sure you are. Anyway, I have no time for your delusion and ignorance, stop quoting me. But continue doing it, I guess. I enjoy amusement of people like you who have no idea about what they're talking about. It's always nice to have people being obsessed with me. ??

Hmmm....but no. She was still incredibly popular whether we are talking about 2011, 2012, or 2014. Doesn't matter whether she is more popular now or in 2011. She has always been extremely relevant and hugely successful. Her fame and fan base grows with each album she puts out and continues to stay stronger than any other pop girl. And each time she puts out an album, it trumps all other albums. She's always been popular "in this way".

Again, she's always been successful and popular, but not as much as she is now. She's a lot more powerful, successful, and popular now than she was in 2006-2013.

She was still famous and talked about. people didn't use the Internet as much back then, so what do you expect. What are you trying to get at?

I never denied that. All I said was that Taylor taking her music off of Spotify boosted and doubled her views on YouTube and VEVO. There are even documented datas which prove that. The thing is, Taylor's videos, for the most part, never had the level of views of the other MVs, regardless of the situation of streaming and views at that time. Now all of the sudden, after she took her music out of Spotify, she became a powerful force in that area.

I might not agree with this, but I am kinda glad that Taylor isn't viewed as the perfect pop girl ALL THE TIME....

people on this site really dont think sometimes. you need to look a at the bigger picture. i dont think its racist but i do find it annoying how the director goes to a africa which is a mostly black country and have two black actors on it. I'm not blaming taylor because she didn't direct it but joseph kahn is just whitewashing africa

I don't disagree, but if you direct a video in a mostly white country, do you only have a couple of white people in it?

I do not see that as bad.

So, you're saying she should include a person of every race and every gender in every video of her's? You think she should always have to have a gay person and a transgender person? It's just not practical...

If you think the problem with the video was inclusion, you're missing the point. Also before this turns into a back and forth thing about racism. In my comment I only stated the video was ignorant and not intentionally racist. I do not think Taylor is racist. If she is filming at a gay club your damn right she better have some gay people in the video. In the video I better see drag queens with big hair, lesbians, trans, and gay boys and every skin color represented because that's the reality of a gay club.

No. Just no. Just because Joseph Kahn picked a predominately black continent to film a music video, does not mean he owes anything or has to include black people in the video. It was obviously an artistic choice to use that scenery. Taylor nor Joseph owe nothing to the culture and people of Africa for shooting this video there. That wasn't the point of he video. I swear, you people that always throw the race card are now the new racists, and are becoming more and more hypocritical and hateful. There were no racist undertones, or motives. Get over it.

Why do some people feel the urge to call everything rasist? I don't get it :saladga:
