I Hate That Gaga Smokes

I don't like that she smokes but not because she will ruin her beautiful singing voice but because I don't want anything bad to happen to her as a result of smoking.  Lung or throat cancer are horrible and I don't want Gaga to have that fate.

This.  Gaga is a treasure to the world for a lot more than just her singing.  I wish only the best for this kind and wonderful person.

Ok she's smoking cigarettes, not crack in an alleyway. I don't have a problem with it because she's proven to only be an occasional smoker throughout her career. I'd say she goes through a pack in a month or two. Not that big of a deal considering how healthy she keeps herself. She knows how it affects her voice and I'm sure she's protective of it so if she noticed any damage, she'd lay off. She's smart.

I hate it. I just worry about her health and her voice! I feel like she's so much better than that. I don't want it to effect her vocals or her physical health.  Social smoking is still smoking. I feel as though smoking cigarettes AT ALL is risky even when it's just "social" because nicotine is addicting and Gaga has already struggled with addictions in the past, and before you know it, she could become addicted to smoking, just like anyone that starts out as a "social" smoker.

It's ok if you don't smoke. Just don't think that you're better than smokers. #sorrynotsorry

I also hate that she seems to drink alcohol on a regulary basis - remember she said she used to be an alcoholic, if you are really addicted and still can't live without it, I see problems there - I know it's just moderate consumption, but still - same with the weed. If she can proof herself to live with all that **** at least five months without it or so, she might be really save and can still do it from time to time, but I always get the impression she's not sobere tbh ...

I don't care if she smokes, it's her choice. It makes me cringe when people say "I'm so worried for her, pray for Gaga, she needs to be safe!"  Like she is going to war or something.

Unless she's chain-smoking 3 packs a day she's going to be fine. Cigarette smoke can certainly have an impact on the vocal chords because the smoke passes directly through them when the smoke is inhaled and exhaled but some people honestly are never even affected. Bodies are different- that's also why some people get lung cancer and others dont even if they have smoked for 30+ years. Its her choice. I do know that she smokes the American Spirit organic ones so at least she's not getting all those extra additives that you get with more commercial tobacco :P

Well she obviously IS addicted to smoking. Nicotine is one of the most addicting things, and cravings sometimes never go away after you quite. She's going to do what she wants, though. And as a smoker it doesn't bother me.

Addiction is a highly complex and diverse situation. Gaga is not sober, she has admitted that on several occasions. She says she is working on it. From experience and knowing hundreds of others with addictions, everyone goes at their own pace and ends up at varying degrees of abstinence. There really isn't a one size fits all solution. She is working hard on her career and is happy and says she is working on her addictive behavior. Let her work it out!

how could you possibly know how much she smokes? 

because after over 7 years of her being photographed on a near daily basis, we only have like 20 pictures of her smoking a cigarette and that includes for the purpose of photoshoots and performances. Plus, the mention of cigarettes on her Instagram account is sporadic and sparse. Clearly not a daily habit.
