I've been to both cities several times and I've come across nothing but nice people. My uncle lived in LA six months and he said the people are the worst he's ever come in contact with. Of course it depends the individuals.Regarding Russia and France, if you are a tourist and only speak English, I wish you luck for trying to be understood by people. It's not about being unfriendly but if you don't know what people say, you don't just don't know and can't really help them... I am quite surprised at Marseille being considered unfriendly, try Paris and we can talk about it again... I've been to both Atlantic City and NYC several times (and Philly once). I haven't encountered problems with the people there. Then again, I mind my own business and I don't act foolish. I'm also lucky since nobody wanted to start something with me for no reason. Northeastern Americans have a reputation for... not being the most friendly people. I'm used to it tho. In fact, I'd be weirded out if random-ass people greeted me on the street. Glad to see no city from Connecticut is on there tho. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man.
