there is nothing experiment about this :toofunny:

but this site thinks MANiCURE is experimental soo...

It actually. You don't see many people doing that. Specially not in the way Gaga does it.

the woman herself said that the album is full of radio friendly pop bops

like just enjoy the bops enough with this experimental talk :saladga:

She did say that. But that is the pop side of ARTPOP.

Well this in my opinion. And I have heard many experimental album. But Gaga's ARTPOP is definitely experimental in many different ways. The albums is something that seems very pop and mainstream, but deep down is very experimental, original, and metaphorical.

It's not subject to opinion whether music is experimental or not, it's 100% objective. You don't need a degree in music theory, just spend a few minutes reading about the definition and history of experimental music.

Which "other" experimental albums have you heard..

Interesting/different =/= experimental

Just because it's not a 2D generic pop album, doesn't make it an experimental masterpiece. I wish fans would get over this.

The thing with ARTPOP is that is sounds very mainstream as first glance, but it actually has a lot of experimentation.

yes,i do think ARTPOP is experimental...just because it doesnt have some complex music structures or some strange beats doesnt mean that its not experimental.

That's exactly what it means lol

Well if its not objective than I still do think ARTPOP is experimental. It literary lives on its own world. There are no albums that sound so mainstream, and yet contain many musical, songwriting, and vocal elements are not really attempted by others. BTW, I have heard albums from Bjork, Radiohead, Led Zepplin, Infected Mashroom, and money more underground artists.

I'm sorry but this is one of the biggest reaches I've ever heard... If you have to dig that deep to justify how experimental it is, then is it experimental at all?

It's a good album but not groundbreaking or new.

Experimental writing is the innovation of poetry and technique. On ARTPOP, Gaga showcased nothing but a lack of tact and creativity in terms of writing, really a run of the mill for Gaga.

There is nothing experimental or new about the vocals she incorporated as well. Applause is David Bowie & Sexxx Dreams is Madonna.

No. Being experimental is trying something new and uncharted. Complexity or uniqueness could sometimes not be experimental.

Okay sis, ARTPOP is my fave Gaga album but I don't think she's ever released an experimental album.

Having stated that, Gaga has never relessed a standard, formulatic pop album either.

I would say ARTPOP is definitely different. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Listening to ARTPOP is like a journey which evokes multiple different emotions and gives us a look into the mind of Gaga.

You haven't provided me with any actual examples of why is not. You are the one that is actually reaching with that "if you have to dig deep argument". That is just an excuse.
