Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Sme opinion. i dont even understand why the song is so popular. its one of her weak songs in my opinion. its also so overburnt and overexposed. its tiering to see gaga perform it because its like..."ughh again this song?" i usually skip the BR performances. its had too much spotlight. I agree. I don't care for BR that much. I can't even remember the last time I've listened to it. With that said, I respect what its done for Gaga's career and I can't deny that its iconic. It's science, bitch
swordstalker 1,829
Bad Romance was so acclaimed because she came out all guns blazing when no one knew much about her. The cinematography, graphics/visuals, choreography and plot were something that we have not seen much since Thriller. It single handedly brought back performance POP. Furthermore, it was released when Gaga was the biggest force in the music industry. A signature video for a signature hit and album. BR's video is ICONIC, the dance moves, the flames, the outfits, the song itself, everything really. BR's video isn't some massive movie production but it's so original and unique at a time where it was hard to make an original concept video. All the Gaga videos you listed were hugely inspired where as BR's video is Gaga saying **** why don't we do this and that. I guess it's just a difference of opinion then. It just is. You don't have to like it to accept it. Well I said that I understood that it's considered her magnum opus and I called it "very well-done" so obviously I like it. I was looking to understand why. Sme opinion. i dont even understand why the song is so popular. its one of her weak songs in my opinion. its also so overburnt and overexposed. its tiering to see gaga perform it because its like..."ughh again this song?" i usually skip the BR performances. its had too much spotlight. SISTERV 3,887
Also the fact that even worn out "indie hipsters" will talk maaaaad **** about Gaga and how fake she is, except this one song. It's the one they won't talk **** about because there is no denying it's just a really ****ing great song. You can twiddle Just Dance and Poker Face down by saying they are autotuned, you can twiddle Applause down and say it is trying too hard, you can even twiddle Born This Way down and say she was just pandering to gay people....but Bad Romance is one of those rare times a song hits every Mark in weirdness, pop, vocals, relatability, and production so it makes others look like a hater when they try and **** on it. Swan Heart 7,382
It's her best video for so many reasons...My favourite, however, is Marry The Night.. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
Staryu 6,162
Unfortunately, both the song and the MV don't do much for me. Overrated imo.

Alien Tulip 12,428
It's an amazing song and an amazing video that's why it's acclaimed. I prefer Poker Face song and video though.
swordstalker 1,829
It is just the content but the context. Even now, it would be a huge video and see Blank Space/Wrecking Ball numbers, but back then when youtube was still young and pop music was still bland, it held a cultural prominence that no one has been able to touch. Every artist in pop today would say that video inspired their aesthetic to this day. That's rare. Especially in pop where everyone imitates each other. Make sense? That makes sense. I only became a Gaga fan after the Telephone MV . And I'm a sucker for quirky, weird plots and fashion so maybe I saw BR in the shadow of Telephone's limelight. And looking back, really great music videos (a la Toxic) were few and far between, so it makes sense that people would latch on the gem called Bad Romance. AgusPop 4,141
Because it was completely original at that time and still it is. It was a hurricane of fresh air for the pop industry. BR = Lady Gaga, It represents everything Gaga is. The darkness, the artistic, the deepness, the mysterious, the fashion, the futuristic + the extraordinary song, one of the best pop songs of all time.
