The Professor 1,060
Not very. She beats a dead horse senseless. We get it, adult messed up stuff in a childhood metaphor. She literally just went through everysingle childhood item and though "how can i make this ****ed?" Pacifier, cry baby, dollhouse, sippy cup... i mean christ, enough. whats next, crib? titties? onezie? its like writing an album about money and having every song be like: Bank, ATM, Cash, Money, Deposit etc.

DrewStevens 5,249
Very clever. The metaphors are clever and original. The concept of the album is not new but it's probably the best one yet. Also the use of the alter ego for the album is not new but she definitely did an amazing job with that unlike many artists who have tried to use an alter ego... AKA Nicki and Marina. The idea is that it's a concept album about a character whose experiences are all artistically tied together through childhood imagery contrasted with the darker aspects of adult life, and it's a musical masterpiece that plays on duality throughout the entire album. It defines itself as a work. She's taking this concept and crafting it into an album that embodies it. It's obvious her creativity expands more than this such as in tracks like "Dead To Me" from the Dollhouse EP, it just so happens she decided that Cry Baby would be based around this character. It felt more like it was actually tied together than albums like Electra Heart, which are also thematic in nature. As a songwriter, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to make an album as brilliantly interwoven with itself like this. It's a flawless, smooth patchwork with an intricate meaning and multiple societal and personal messages evident throughout. It takes a true genius to make an album with so much thematic consistency. I personally don't find it to be tiring at all.

Find baby noun2. Use a pun or metaphor 3. Use xylophone/music box sound to act cuteThere's a difference between cohesiveness and repetition. 1/2 of the album is unnecessaryIts would be a great EP, not so much album. Here let me try. Crib. Cribs like a jail, draw comparison to the bars of the crib and jail bars, say how you're trapped, could be abuse or d--gs or whatever. Done. Pitched drums and music box sounds. I created a MM song.
