isaacanthony 142
This whole damn show was just an embarrassment to the music industry. (With the exception of a few artists) Miley just reminded me how much of a waste of talent she is. VMA's are nothing of what they use to be back in the earlier days. Ferrer Zorola 3,966
I know plenty of southerners that refer to their mothers and grandmothers by "mammy", both white and black that's what I thought lol how is that being racist/culture appropriating? this type of people need to stop or else I'll wear burqas daily LIFE IS GOOD
Knife 6,606
Not really, Nicki's voice is more annoying tbh :awknew: have u ever heard the life changing, saving life song called Stupid Hoe, very exciting, very coolStupid Hoe is more profound than anything Miley Cyrus will ever put out. Pleiades 18
And yet here you are trying to sh*t on everyone's good time by claiming racism because of a hair style Oh, and I'm not white, but good generalization. If someone doesn't buy into your stupidity, they must be a white devil, right? lmao totally "white devil" I'm a white passing Latino why would I ever call someone that Look, like it or not. Its cultural appropriate. Feel free to research it because I doubt you'll listen to me and will resort to more petty name calling

Like, to no end. I hate when people just have to sh*t all over something that they don't even know what they're talking about. *deep breath* but I'm calm now Sorry if I insulted you guys, but you're wrong. That was wrong and immature, I just got carried away. That being said, you're wrong. People of a race or creed don't own anything and at the very least they should be flattered. What we need is to tear walls down, not build fences and tell people "You can't do that, you're white!" I'm not going to respond to this argument anymore, though. I don't want to hijack this thread talking about a non-issue. Peace, friend.

Thomas P 18,464
I like it. 2014's VMAs felt quite hollow. 2015 felt more lively.there wasn't really a memorable moment in 2014 imo.The entire show tonight is stuck in my brain, probs for a good long time too. Miel 15,009
You know..... Nicki is just an embarrassment imo.At first I thought it was cool, but looking back on it, she just preprepatuated a negative stereotype of black women. She's so annoying and fake. She's not a good representation of a strong black female AT ALL.I won't be surprised if she decides to do a song with Miley next month after this gives her press. **** Nicki.I can see where you're coming from. Somebody mentioned here that Nicki spun the whole ordeal of her initial VMA's controversy around her, and that the argument spinning into the implications of Black women being sidelined just happened to go onto her side.I don't follow her too much, so I don't have too much knowledge on her actions as an individual- rather, that I agree more on her as a representation of intersectional feminism, and as a justification for the "angry Black woman" stereotype. On one hand, I don't think there's anything wrong with being an angry Black woman- it's true that people and so much of media paint that as headliners, but imo it's justified. POC, especially Black people have a lot to be angry about.HOWEVER, I don't know if Nicki feels genuine about these issues, or if she rode it out along her side. Think of it as the other side of Taylor Swift being a feminist, but in the end still relatively blind to a lot of struggles others face even within the sphere of feminism. That said, I miss Gaga so much. 3 points in and ready for more
