I can't even think about that right now. I mean look at how good Justin Biebers 'comeback' is going. Gaga is going to come full force. 

I think it's too early to judge Justin's comeback. It is looking good for now but who knows what might happen in the few months coming. Applause was a commercial success but who knew G.U.Y. would have happened? But anyway Justin and Gaga both have huge fanbases and I'm sure Gaga won't do too bad next year.

I highly doubt that. Gaga still had hopes after G.U.Y. when she told fans she was still considering a fourth single (when fans asked her if Gypsy was going to become a single) and the last thing on earth Gaga would do is to go on with a plan which she doesn't have confidence in succeeding. G.U.Y.'s underperformance was not within Gaga's prediction.

I think she also mentioned how Gypsy was going to be a single eventually when she delivered the SXSW keynote speech.

You can choose to believe what you believe but I believe that Gaga (and quite confident that) she didn't know G.U.Y.'s underperformance was going to happen. She wasn't that foolish to approve the single with the knowledge of knowing the song was not meant to be successful.

I'm quite confident that it literally only happened because she got some wind under her sails probably from working with Tony and just wanted to give ARTPOP what it deserved.  The singles campaign was basically over by then.  Exactly why she performed the SONG 'ARTPOP' on Jimmy Kimmel and not G.U.Y.  She was giving the ALBUM one that last horray.  It's nice to think that Gypsy was going to be a single and it definitely should have, but she chose G.U.Y. instead so she could have that one video that involved greek mythology and water (what she hoped for all along).  And trust me, there were like no radio deals for G.U.Y. and I hung out with guys who worked on Q102 around the release and they said they have no plans to even spin it.

Yeah I agree. I mean, the fact that half of the video consists of a credit reel with MANiCURE over it says enough. At a time where everyone was asking her for short video's, she went all out and made it as long as she could possibly do. And then the G.U.Y.-only version rolled out like a week later, when the initial buzz was already gone. I don't think that they didn't have any commercial expectations (because record labels always do), but the whole G.U.Y. era looks like Gaga just wanted to pay respect to everything that she wanted ARTPOP to be.
