Why Does Freak Show Get So Much Hate?

I've watched each AHS season in a couple of days each. That made the pacing a non factor for me. Having watched them like that Coven was the messiest with MH and Asylum being the best. Murder House was the most concise though.

I really enjoyed the season, it's the last few episodes that disappointed me. I thought the story was just rushed at the end.

The only thing I really loathed was the cringeworthy "we were born this way" ****, other than that it wasnt that bad. Sure not every ep was a 10 but most had interesting things at least

I hated the musical aspect of it. It felt like a dark version of GLEE, and it wasn't even that scary, it felt corny just like the season before (Coven). Stopped watching halfway.

its horrible that why

the plot was so ****ty it looked like they were making things up  randomly

they didnt know what to do  with all those characters they were just .. there and added nothing to the table

and let me not get into dragging the annoying musical parts  :lmao:  ahs aint glee

The Freak Show was a disappointment but that doesn't mean the next one will be a flop. I never saw any of the previous ones so my opinion is based on a limited exposure of the series. I will watch the first few episodes of the new AHS to see if it holds my attention.

The only interesting things on this season were Twisty and Maggie's end.

I definitely liked FS better than Murder House. It's no horror tbh, but I still liked the plot. Bette and Dott made the season for me

It became boring after Ryan listened to much to the public and changed up the story after the first few episodes, he could've had Twisty the whole series and made an amazing backstory and horror suspense scenes but it ended up a miss after about 5-6 episodes

He did? What exactly happened tho? And do we know what the original story was?

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

I think it started very promising. Somewhere in the middle it became a hot mess. The first 2  seasons are honestly the fan favorites, and I have to agree with that. Twisty was the best thing about Freak Snow. Dandy got annoying after a while.

Honestly, none of the seasons are deserving of hate, there's too many quality ingredients for any of them to be labelled "bad".

But where Murder House and Asylum were consistent and engaging and narratively satisfying, Coven and Freak Show fell short due to a lack of focus and too many elements and characters being poorly handled, especially in the second half of both seasons. And because FS began SO scary and distinctive, it made the downfall more disappointing.

There was no central storyline that tied everything together. If someone asked me what it is about, I literally would not be able to sum it up (e.g coven had the central storyline of the next supreme) - with that freakshow too many individual story lines that just made it explode at the end. It's almost like the writers forgot that it's a 13 episode story and just said "oh well"

if there was perhaps 2 seasons of freakshow I think they may have been able to properly develop all the characters/story lines without having to just kill them off when they run out of things to do.

In saying that, the filming/cinematography is quite beautiful but it's really just lazy writing that ruined it.

Couldn't agree more.

as someone who watched each season as they aired, my biggest issue with freakshow was i completely lost that suspension of disbelief while watching it. Asylum was a ****show WHILE watching it until the end when it all came together. Coven was the same way it meandered but still had a throughline, Freakshow was aimless! whatg was the general plot of it? i dare you to tell me.... was it elsa's journey to stardom? was it Dandys decension into madness? was it about anything to do with the concept of being in a freakshow? no....it was weak.
