White people love to "discover" things that poc have known about. She really shouldn't be wearing it, it's not ~edgy~. Other than that, I like the rest of the look (those earrings and shoulder pads ) and I still remained perched for AHS. I think Ryan Murphy is referring to the old 1940s Hollywood style of wearing turbans with evening wear. Also, this doesn't strike me as appropriative at all. This is like when she worse those Matrix-looking dreads back in 2013 - they were clearly purely a outré type of aesthetic choice rather than an offensive culture-as-a-costume miss step because she wasn't exactly wearing a Bob Marley tee or wearing anything that might be construed as Rastafarian themed.
