The Countess is bringing back The Turban in a major way

Having a tumblr and being socially aware are two different things and you were wrong in trying to fit me into the "SJW Tumblr" trope. Honorable attempt, though.

"Call out the discrimination, don't try to restrict and forbid others from wearing something" did you forget you said this? If anyone should be calling out discrimination, it should be the person wearing the turban. Point blank period.

Clearly you're deficient in multiple social qualities and you joined this conversation with an abrasive (and quite irritating, honestly) tone. I'm not going to derail this thread any further, that being said, I would be more than happy to discuss this with you in PM's if you're willing to use your big kid thinking cap. :)

The turban is just a cloth. Just because you put it on your head doesn't make you any more obligated to do something than anyone else.

You're trying to say is people like Gaga shouldn't be allowed to wear a turban because of discrimination a specific people group of people might face. You're trying to police what people wear, which is pointless and stupid. Just because a specific group is discriminated against for wearing a turban, nobody else is allowed to wear it?  You're letting THE PEOPLE WHO DISCRIMINATE dictate what you feel people should or shouldn't be allowed to wear, and that's not progressive at all.

Again, message me, I'll be more than happy to talk about it there where it's off topic.

"bringing back the turban" just because white people aren't known to wear it doesn't mean it was ever gone. White people love to "discover" things that poc have known about. She really shouldn't be wearing it, it's not ~edgy~.

Other than that, I like the rest of the look (those earrings and shoulder pads :legend:) and I still remained perched for AHS.

I think Ryan Murphy is referring to the old 1940s Hollywood style of wearing turbans with evening wear. Also, this doesn't strike me as appropriative at all. This is like when she worse those Matrix-looking dreads back in 2013 - they were clearly purely a outré type of aesthetic choice rather than an offensive culture-as-a-costume miss step because she wasn't exactly wearing a Bob Marley tee or wearing anything that might be construed as Rastafarian themed.
