I rather have someone be honest about not writting their songs, then to have a singer claiming he wrote it but to later find out he hires ghostwritters.

It was more of a rhetorical question. More as a comment on how many pop artists through history have been singing other persons texts and have been receiving so much popularity for it. As a whole "artist".

Yet some of the true artists that really do have almost total creative control with what they are doing are actually praised too but in a deserved way thru' history. It's just funny to see how our generation showcases ghostwriting (or in-your-face I'm not writing my own lyrics to my own song) as a normal thing. It shouldn't be a normal/OK thing IMO.

If you insist "all singers ought to write their own songs" - this would waste the talents of great live performers who aren't good writers, and great songwriters who can't perform well live.

If I respect the artistry of the songwriter, it's not an issue. Katy P + B McKee are great together. Cathy Dennis who wrote hits for Kylie and Britney was a late 80's dance-pop girl herself who realized that songwriting was more her thing.

The problem is if you get a soulless Committee who just try to write what they think is on trend (especially if you don't like what's currently on trend).

I totally understand how they work and I think it's delusional to say that Gaga writes all her music herself. Yes she writes the majority of her music but she also has help. I don't know where you're getting this "one word" business from, possibly the stuff songwriters have said about Beyoncé's contributions to her music but that doesn't necessarily apply to Gaga too - so show me some receipts. Just because I stan for Gaga doesn't mean I have to praise everything she does. I'm allowed to critique and speak my mind, unlike some users on this site. Gaga has written several songs by herself but the majority she writes with a team. Google the definition if you have to. Even if they only contribute a few words that still makes them part of a team, so your point is irrelevant and invalid.
