I actually like your comment. It's fine to give an opinion against Gaga.

I am just being honest

As a fan of both, I think Adele is the real threat here to Gaga's success... Her songs are very relatable with the gp and of course after 21 which sold the enormous amount of 30m (still it's unbelievable to me) people will be more inclined to buying her music. I think her voice is amazing and her tone just totally unique, but let's be real Gaga has a more powerful voice and more versatile. If they vocally compete Gaga is bound to prevail, especially with her rockish voice.

But I really dk... It's been 5 years since 21, so the success might of the same level as well or even bigger.

I agree to everything you said except people are still inclined to buy her album. Huge albums usually garnered sales from a lot of people who are "one album buyer". They usually buy that album because it had a really successful single or simply because the artist was on his/her peak. This was Adele's case in 2011 but in 2016, this can not at all be the case.

I don't know, it's been years since Adele's last album. The public has largely forgotten about her. She'll need to have good marketing to be a smash.

Being absent from the music industry for such a long time, will either make the success of the comeback EXTREMELY HUGE or it will be a total flop.. No in-betweens... I'm really sure though she's smart enough to make the former happen...

I think Adele is going to crush everyone and she will sell a lot solely because people already know she is amazing. She has nothing to prove to the GP unlike Gaga who has had to rebuild her image.

However, depending on the direction Gaga goes she won't be far behind of Adele.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

But 21 didn't even have that good of a marketing push. She got lucky last era.

I wanted to mention this. Gaga is good in securing her success, she does heavy promotion for her songs and this to some extent help. But Adele kinda is the real "music not the bling" artist and she doesn't care about charts at all, she won't like Taylor Swift find thousands of ways to promote her songs, she just needs a microphone and that's it, she performs live this way. It depends on the GP whether this still works or they want something interesting and entertaining to see in 2016.

Adele is a threat to ALL pop artists, including Gaga. Adele not only has the vocal talent, but she has proven that she doesnt need to be half naked or have any sort of shock value to create buzz, attention, and have fans, something the gp likes. Gaga, just recently, found that key to success, but Adele is the one everyone is waiting for. I mean, on my fb, when Gaga announced she is working on LG5, only Gaga fans were talking about it. Meanwhile yesterday, when it was revealed Adele is coming back, I saw lots of posts about it, from emo friends, to country friends, pop friends, even older people. There is also something soothing about Adele's voice. So yeah, Adele is a big threat to everyone. Every pop star knows it, even Gaga

lmfao at that tweet but i think your justifications are really weak.

#1 Adele was making a comeback, she hasn't been in the music industry for YEARS. Her last album was 2011 and Gaga's last was 2014.

#2 Gaga's announcement wasn't even about releasing an album, she only posted a selfie about her WORKING on an album,

how do you expect them to receive the same publicity for different reasons?

That is why everyone loves Adele. She does not market her songs constantly and is not shoved down our throats. All she needs is a microphone and everyone falls in love with her.

That's not true when your previous album is selling after 3 years the same sales as new releases.

Adele is not as absent as people here think she is.

If Gaga has a comeback on the size that she can achive with a perfect Era then both will be powerhouses in Taylor Swift size and with probably even more impact but Adele has a big advantage over her. She is coming from 21 Era.

Another problem is that the scene has been so bland this year. All these one hit wonders and Taylor Swift. What helped Adele during 21 was that being simplistic was different but now, it's not. Gaga's massive entertainment value will be appreciated after the blandness of Cheerleader, Shut Up And Dance, Bad Blood, etc.

I quite agree. I actually think Gaga is going to be very advantaged regardless of she toning it down or go high profile for LG5. I think Do What U Want is a great example of "simple pop" yet being entertaining. The performances weren't provocative like Paparazzi at the VMAs but yet entertaining enough to be applauded.

I agree wit u. Gaga is versatile. She can be Adele and stand there and sing and slay the world or she can be Madonna with massive production and theatrics.

Gaga doesn't have a hit ballad yet so comparing her music with Adele's is not a good match by any stretch of the imagination. I really doubt that people would buy into it either because Gaga is not known for being passionate about love/ heart breaks (she is known as someone who is weird and does ebm/dance music) so unless she comes up with a very strong performance or a very amazing ballad then she might be a possible contender to Adele.

SISTERV

I don't think Adele will do as well as 21, but see a big opening week with a few strong singles...maybe 3?

I see Gaga doing much better than ARTPOP and having big opening week numbers, but with more diverse singles.

The advantage Gaga has is versatility. If Adele ever did anything weird or cheesy people would be dissatisfied with her. Whereas Gaga can put out cheesy weird songs and people will bop but if she puts out a ballad people will be shocked. I say they both start out the same with impact but Gaga possibly could have a longer more impactful era.
