Jenniferella 2,775
"Only in America" Right... you're from France. You just had Charlie Hebdo and the Lyon beheading. Oh. Didn't know the Charlie Hebdo attack was led by non terrorist citizens. And the beheading thing has no link with this other murder. Try something else ? You pro-NRA guys are never short of ideas to promote your stupid guns. "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"

uo111 5,283
If this is true, it'll be because he has a history of mental health issues. Probably a loner, and definitely an anomaly. He won't be a "thug" or represent his entire race. I do understand the sentiment of saying this, but I also prefer to ignore racists.Poverty ridden areas have high crime and high black populations. It's easy to make that connection. There is something going on here that's primarily affecting these white men, whatever it is. Could be societal pressures to be great or overbearing masculinity ideals that they don't fit. It's not a good idea to ignore it just because we don't think there should be anything wrong with them, and it's a much worse idea to boil it down to a simple race issue. That's what racists do.And while restricted gun access is a good idea, it's absolutely silly to think that's what is causing it, since plenty crime ridden areas have a lot of guns, and they don't shoot people randomly (even if they do shoot each other much more often). craig 680
A man. Probably late teens or early 20's. White. For attention.Just a guess, though. Looks like you're racial profiling is wrong, since the killer tweeted that the victim was "racist." Of course there's no way the killer could be racist himself, right, cause "black people can't be racist."
Whispering 18,865
Should we ban kitchen knives too? It's the people! You've got more of a chance in mass murder situations if someone has a knife versus a semi-automatic weapon. A guy with a knife wouldn't of killed 20 kindergarteners or 12 moviegoers and injured 70. Even in this situation, someone could have perhaps tackled him or at least ran away. Edit: Saw you were being sarcastic...whoops...hope you don't mind if I use your comment to bounce mine off of. Sis, I know that and I agree, I was just continuing in same vein as @Morphine Prince , repeating same old arguments. edit: no worries! The media tends to portray young white shooters as "antisocial teens with mental health issues" and young black shooters as "thugs" who represent black people as a whole.Regardless, you are right that we can't ignore someone's reasons for committing a crime. White or black, appropriate mental health or illness, economic status, etc. Boiling it down to their race ignores the actual factors that need to be addressed if we want these problems to be less common. He filed suit for racial discrimination, but lost the case. He is 41, and it's rumoured on twitter he has a history of making such complains at various stations.
