Earlier this year, Mark Ronson let slip that he was going into the studio with Lana Del Rey.

It sounded like an intriguing collaboration, especially when you consider Ronson's previous output for the likes of Adele and Christina Aguilera, as well as his mammoth hit 'Uptown Funk'.

But don't get too excited, because although Lana's Honeymoon is on the horizon, the results of their writing session won't be sailing off into the sunset as a part of it.

"I hate to crap all over your excitement, but we just worked a couple [of] days together and I think she's amazing, but we didn't actually end up doing anything for her album," Ronson told us backstage at V Festival.

"I said it and I shouldn't have opened my big mouth, but I love that track 'Honeymoon' and the stuff I've heard from the record is great."

she might be on a track of his and lana is very stubborn about her image so she wouldn't be on a track like uptown funk he'd have to cater to her sound or she wouldn't work with him.

Uptown Funk and Amy Winhouse's entire discography.

Lies, he didn't work with Amy until Back To Black.

Even then, he didn't work on all of the songs.

Salaam Remi was Amy's producer since Frank.

Yes, they made amazing music together. :legend:

I would've loved to hear what him and Lana could come up with.

Maybe they will try again in the future.

I feel like he didn't really fit in with Lana's mellow yet grand and trip/hop-ish sound anyway. His past work has a retro throwback feel, but it's doesnt' quite match Lana's version of it. IDK how to describe it exactly...like his stuff is too upbeat and brassy sounding maybe.

I don't think they would work well together. But she definitely needs some new producers for the next album. The Honeymoon songs are great but she'll need to reinvigorate her sound soon.

You described it perfectly to me.

I think he would be better suited to Gaga's style than Lana's.

His productions have a more outgoing mood to them whereas Lana's mood is more introspective.

Yeah, IA completely.

I'd actually love to see him work with Xtina and give her a revival/Emancipation moment.
