One thing that bothers me about Gaga's role in AHS

why does it matter?  Things have changed since that Ellen interview and she's had a few roles. 

We need to quit holding onto things Gaga says like some sort of Gospel.

I get that. People can change their minds. It bothers me because this seemed to be almost like a moral code that she was following. I very much agreed with her and respected her for having that view and now it seems like she doesn't feel that way anymore.

I felt the same, but I also feel that it is fine if she has changed her mind about this, and many other things as well. We all do it and she is one of us.

I doubt she went to ryan for the role. Ryan loves to lie to boost his ego lmao. He said they talked back in october of last year or smth and i just can't see Gaga up and asking for a role, especially when she first denied the role he offered her.

If she was being hired for some prestigious period drama, then they would be stupid not to at least ask her to read.

But with this show, Murphy knows what his cast is capable of. He writes it to their strengths. Anyone who has been closely following Gaga doesn't need to have seen Machete Kills or "SNL" to know that Gaga could handle a colorful, pathos-filled role.

I just always assumed that Gaga asked to be on it, then whomever on the crew asked for audition tapes or whatever (YT link to Marry the Night lol), then it was decided whether or not she was given the role

I've learned that this is what everyone does in life as they grow up. It's also what people do in the real world...make promises that end up not working out, due to circumstances outside their control.

This is adulthood, the condition called "real life".

Well yeah..it is kinda messy. But she really did wanna be on the show and she was just handed the opportunity. As a fan of the show, it makes sense. It's like - HERE'S THIS THING I LOVE OMG I NEED TO WORK FOR THEM I NEED A JOB WITH THEM, and they just HAND IT TO YOU?! How could you not? What bugs me though, is that so far her character just seems like she's playing herself but soon enough we'll see.

That's what's bothering me so far as well, if we're going purely on what we've heard and the pictures today. I always imagined her to be visually frightening with dark hair of some kind but the wig from today looks like it could have been part of the c2c tour.

Why is it a negative? Gaga thought she would possibly be a good match for that TV show, so she called the producer. Did you expect her to show up at a cold call to try out to be one of the extras? What was she going to do...use her real name to try out? You know someone on set would have figured out that it was Gaga. 

She's a major celebrity. She doesn't need to go to a cold call. Ryan and his team will develop the script around the players they have assembled. Gaga will end up learning a lot from this process and can build on it in the future.

Why does everything Gaga does have to be picked apart to find any sliver of a negative slant, and by her own fans? Where is the fun in following an artist, if you are looking for the negative in every situation?
