Didymus 34,379
Not you being ignorant trying to desperately prove your point No, no, no. These are all from 2008: Katy has always played with fashion & has always made bold fashion choices on red carpets even though it was more in a goofy sense with retro silhouettes than being more high fashion avant-garde like Gaga. But it's a downright lie to pretend that Katy changed up her visuals because of Gaga, if anything she's been consistent throughout her entire career Gaga (or should I say her stylists) brought back some old trends in fashion and there definitely arose a popular niche for avant-garde wear that impacted celebrities and retail but that impact was limited and short, I mean come on, let's not be delusional. The same could easily be said of Katy btw, both of them literally became famous for goofing around with quickly changing visuals and having a recognizable fashion aesthetic. You and Jjang always bring those same 3 pics as some sort of refutation. Notice that the hair is ordinary black on all of them, she didn't experiment with colors and that stupid block of cheese on her head at VMAs was clearly her attempt to do "crazy fashion" like Gaga, while Gaga showed up like a dude. Always? This is the first time I posted this We're not even talking about hair, we're talking about fashion choices. It takes an idiot to not realize that Katy has followed a clearly defined aesthetic in her first era and extended that line of thought until now. Gaga could never wear something that Katy wears and vice versa, they're two completely different visions. I don't really even get the wig thing because Katy definitely experimented more with color than Gaga did She always chose the bright, funky colors while Gaga rarely deviated from being blond (just like Katy rarely deviated from black throughout most era's) and if she did, she went for "subtle" tones. The only example I can think of that deviates from that norm is the teal. Katy's most famous wig color is blue anyway and that's a color Gaga would never have touched in a million years. Point being: both artists have completely different aesthetics and they were already clearly present when they started out.
lego 44,165
Are there any other pics than those 3? Yeah I said always, because you and him are the only ones who posted those, maybe it's your first time and he did more than once. It doesn't matter.I just don't find that very convincing. But you can keep insulting everyone who disagrees by calling them idiots etc. FreePalestine
Haroon 49,685
Sorry gonna lock this for a bit while we find out where exactly it started to go horribly off-topic Upon it being unlocked, please go back to being on-topic otherwise WP will be given out
Haroon 49,685
Okay unlocked now, can we please get back to the magazine interview. Feel free to make a different thread about Gaga's impact on fashion or music or whatever but this really isn't the thread for it. This is the thread for her CR fashion book interview so let's stick to that please
mariomania1234 11,368
The music scene was filled with electronic dance music before she debuted with Just Dance. Rihanna : Don't Stop The Music, Disturbia. Britney Spears : Piece of Me, Womanizer. Madonna : Hung Up, 4 Minutes, Celebration. Flo Rida : Low. Lil Wayne : Lollipop. ***cat Dolls : When I Grow Up. Chris Brown : Forever. As you can clearly see, all pop acts were already releasing electronic (dance) music and were achieving success with these efforts. She did not change fashion. She is known for her outrageous outfits and thats about it. I dont see her setting fashion trends. I'm sorry but this is just not true when almost every pop star and their mother were straight up jacking her style after she became so big. Edit: Sorry @Haroon, I just saw your post. NewYorkCity 10,536
Critics have lauded Gaga for bringing electronic dance music to the forefront of pop music and yet her own fans feel the need to discredit her at every chance they get.those 3-4 fans who are liking every of their posts to each other are not representative, don't worry. Jjang 2,262
Not you being ignorant trying to desperately prove your point Adding to what Didy posted http://gagadaily.com/topic/150496-imagine-a-world-without-lady-gaga/?do=findComment&comment=6629819 lets not act like Katy didn't develop her own aesthetic from the very beginning. It has nothing to do with Gaga. As for Gaga bringing EDM to the mainstream : the biggest hits of 2008 (before Just Dance) were dance pop or edm. The trend already began before Gaga, its just that her meteoric rise to fame created the illusion that she made it mainstream, when in reality that was done by Madonna in 1998. Anyway, i took this very brief moment to type this on my phone, im off to my vacation. Enjoy your days EDIT: just noticed Haroons comment

However, Idk why any of this sh*t matters because what matters to me is Lady Gaga has the voice of an angel and Katy does not. Its why I am a fan of Gaga and not Katy, not because their damn hair color and fashion choices. You could be wearing the coolest outfit in the world, but without the talent to back it up idgaf. Liked the article and that she would rather be compared to Iron Maiden than Madonna :)
Jjang 2,262
For the geniuses that don't get the Iron Maiden comparison: She's actually complementing US. She's saying that she believes her fans are as loyal as metal fans. She's saying being a Gaga fan is like a mini-culture just like being an Iron Maiden fan is. It is! I love this comparison. Wasn't sure why she was saying it before but now that we have the full quote I think it's amazing. And being a Madonna fan is a culture by its own. What is the difference? Morphine Prince 106,075
And being a Madonna fan is a culture by its own. What is the difference? Gaga prefers to be compared to Iron Maiden? She can compare herself to whomever she wants and in this case she wasn't MUSICALLY comapring herself, just her relationship with her fans and "rebellious" attitude, if you'd like. Those two are just trollsinb4 "just because we're fans doesn't mean we have to lick her ass" "it's called an opinion" "that's not very born this way of you"Those are always good excuses to use to bash (yes, bash) Gaga without getting warned while others get warned for making reductive JOKES about other pop stars.
