What don't you understand in it? Maybe ask specific questions about specific elements in the video.

I was recently thinking of asking the same, I understand the main video (documenting the day she was dropped by Def Jam) but it's the end segment where she wears that disc and the music changes? Like I just don't get it

I've always thought that would be some kind of 'trailer' for the ARTPOP era :toofunny:

It's about her getting her giant dick chopped off, interpretive dancing with Cheerio's and illegally blowing up cars after dancing with her gay enabler friends :derpga:

What is the beginning (that scar on her back, the hospital, all that)?

Why is all those people staring at her from the second floor?

why is she stuck on a car?

Forgive me if I look dumb, I just suck at understanding metaphores:confused:

She never really fully explained it

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Mess at these replies :rip:

There's a TON of symbolism in it, but basically...

It's about her aspiring to be an artist. She works hard, lives and breathes her work. People call her crazy and don't believe in her (that's when she's in the asylum/hospital thing). Eventually, she gets dropped from Def Jam (and starts throwing cereal...). She decides not to give up, she dyes her hair to give herself a new, refreshed image and identity, and leaves looking for someone else to believe in her. Along the way she does some soul searching.

That's when she's in the Trans Am with the NYC tags. The symbol for a Trans Am is the phoenix. "Marry the Night" is about her rising from the ashes of one of the most painful blows to her artistry, and therefore, herself. At the end, you see one her hand that she has an interview with Introscope. That's where not giving up got her, a new and better label

Long story short, it's about the same thing as the song, just with direct references to her story. Grow from the pain, learn from it, become better for it, and rise from the ashes triumphant :proud:
