Dominic 11,922
I'd prefer it to be Stefani because it seems to enhance the credibility. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

high heeled fem 3
99.9% of trans people do not like their birth name. If your birth name was Sarah and you felt like a boy, would you really wanna be called sarah? Or would you want to be called your preferred name? If you felt like a boy and you kept getting called a girl and people called you sarah and bought you dresses...come on now. I'm transgender. I'm speaking from experience.Ā Ā GreatĀ post ......its really shocking how uneducated some people are.....or shall I say selfish?

Chic 20,830
We're talking about Gaga. She gets called Stefani, and we call her Gaga. It's the same person, even if she had a different name, wouldn't change anything. And I don't think it's offensive to call someone who is trasgendered by their birthname. It may be uncomfortable, but they grew up with that birth name. If I was trans, I wouldn't mind if my mom or my friends kept calling me by my birth name. Anyways, this is out of topic lol.Ā I am a transgender individual and I don't prefer that you're speaking for a group of people you neither know or represent. First of all, "transgendered" is not a word. Secondly, I made the announcement a few days ago that I will no longer be going by my birth name because it has come to the point that I no longer feel comfortable whatsoever with it, after I had adapted to my chosen name. I feel extremely dysphoric and disconnected to my birth name when anybody mentions it, and it is offensive to me when people deliberately state it despite knowing I do not like it. You have no idea what being transgender is like, so don't makeĀ anyĀ assumptions that you would know how to feel in that situation. Thank you.Lady Gaga is anĀ expertly crafted name designed to market her music and imageĀ successfully and to an optimal level. She is still called Stefani in personal circumstances, it is not a point of dysphoria for her. It is the difference between a real and stage name for her. She has not legally changed her name. She does not want to. The names transgender people choose are personal to their hearts and are typically intended to override all mention of their previous name. Some are okay with it for a while, but many end up going full time and choose to not only eradicate their birth name,Ā but any mention of reference to their previous gender at all.
