because I don't think so.  I'm sitting here listening to BTW and wondering why a lot of people hated on it because they said it was "overproduced".

Like bish, lezbereal.... Saying something is overproduced is you basically admitting that there is a certain way that music should be made.  There is no certain way!  Music is meant to elicit emotion through sound.... and depending on the artist's vision, they can put any fu cking sound they want into the music to express that vision. So please, there's no such thing as overproduced.

Try me.

Yes there is.But BTW is not overproduced at all.. I would like Americano to be a ballad tho (like in the Monsterball tour)

I mean yeah. A song can sound too busy or cluttered. Unintentional over-producing is out there.

Well I am referring to the album as a whole.

I know! I answered that it's not overproduced at all.! The only problem is that they made every song a dance song..It would be better if Hair and Americano were slower and simple

Oh yes! Perfect example Mariah Carey's Infinity. I love it but it sounds like her voice is drenched in the instrumental at parts!

I disagree about Hair!  It's one of my favorite Gaga songs!

it's all subjective.* while a song can be too messy for certain people, others might find the way it sounds perfectly fine.

i know people hate me for saying this over and over again, but it's true. :lolly:

The definition of overproduced is when stems and layers become clogged and/or drowned out due to the massive amount of them or high amplification of certain layers/stems, a major example would be DITD's chorus- it's massively overproduced, same goes for the vocal layers in Donatella's chorus (although I still love it). So YES there is a thing such as overproduced and a definition of it.

There is such a thing as overproduced music, but it isn't direct. We say 'over produced' because the production in the song seems deep and complex, so much so that it can be a bit of a turn off. So, it isn't literally over-produced.
