Donald Trump releases MASSIVE immigration reform plan

I'm opposed to so much of this but I don't know whether it's because I think it's stupid we're getting up in arms about an imaginary border that our society created or because it's literally a stupid plan.

Make Mexico pay for the wall? What? How about don't build a freaking wall?

Hire American workers first? How about make it easier to become an American.

Ugh :saladga:

I'm really attached to this issue because a good portion of my family went through Hell to become American citizens just to face racism and threats of deportation. This is so not right. Down with the wall, down with the stronger ICE, border patrol, down with the racial profiling, down with the GOP.

Thanks for sharing, though, Maze Runner.

i dont agree with the extremes he goes to dont get me wrong, im not approving of his attittudes...

but at the same time, make it too eazy to become a citizen and too many illegals flood the country in the hopes of becoming one knowing odds of deportation are reduced

immigrants can be good for a nation but there has to be a limit on how many you absorb per year

its super offensive to me and to others. doenst matter where you live. i think you should call "alien" anybody

how is it offensive? It's a legal term. It's like saying "citizen" is offensive. You don't have to have done anything wrong to be an alien, you simply have to not be from the place where you are considered to be an alien.

i dont care if its a legal term. alien can also be referred to an extraterrestrial being that is unknown, and for someone from the U.S.A (which is seen as "living in their own bubble" by many latin american countries) call us "aliens" its like saying we are unknown creatures. and under the situation that is used. it specially bad...and offensive if you see it that way

lol are you comparing extraterrestrial life forms to legal aliens?

Have you ever heard the term" alien object"? It simply means something didn't originally belong at that place. You're twisting the word and crating problems where there are none.

yes i am comparing it to that because extraterrestrial life is also referred to as aliens, which is why it can be offensive to immigrants. im not twisting anybodies words

A word can be used to refer to different things. Referring to aliens in a legal sense is not referring to martians. Alien means foreign. Someone from a different country is foreign. Something from a different planet is foreign.

If I try really hard, but honestly, stop trying really hard to be offended.

You are getting offended because YOU interpret a LEGAL term to be comparing people with extraterrestrial beings that we haven't even discovered yet so as far as we're concerned do not exist :smh:

The word alien means FOREIGN.

yes! its up to the way people interpret it, immigrants will find it offensive while others wont, thats what i was trying to say in the first play. i was just explaining why people might get offended. i recognize it is a legal term

It's useless to be offended by it. It's a waste of time. It's better to focus on the actual issue.

Honestly this man is mental. Mexico isn't paying for a wall that they don't have to pay :saladga: And honestly "they have to go" like you're not a king. If the whole birth thing goes through, I'm going to be deported. This just sucks honestly, I'm sick of this disgusting situation. May this man be given the worst treatment possible for the rest of his run for office.
