The most concerning part for me is the birthright citizenship part. WHY should children born IN the US not be citizens? That is ****ing stupid. Just because your parents are illegal aliens doesn't mean you don't have the right to citizenship :wtf:

Because a lot of people abuse the system. And it's not just 'illegal' aliens from Mexico, etc., people in China are paying huge sums of money to give birth here in the US by committing Visa fraud and by engaging in birth tourism, which the DHS has began to crack down on.

And for the record, I'm not saying that I agree with terminating the birthright citizenship rule, I'm just reiterating what I heard some supporters say.

12. Requirement to hire American workers first.

13. End welfare abuse.

What a joke:

12: So Discrimination? The best person for the Job is the person who should be hired. End of.

13: How? 62VaKKs.gif He's got so much waffle and rhetoric on immigration, and nothing on this!?

Disclaimer: Not American

It doesn't matter if technically they could be called aliens, its the use of the word 'alien' which demonises ordinary people and causes them to suffer discrimination and abuse

I disagree. It's a legal term which dates back to Roman times. I've heard some say "illegal immigrant" is "offensive" as well and shouldn't be used, which is just nonsense. :rip:

it would be nice if people wouldnt get in a fuss about the word alien as if its some horrific thing. pay attention to the issue rather than some terminology. it distracts from the actual issue at hand and turns into a bunch of social justice arguing and just sidetracks from whats  important :emma:

I realize what the supporters say and I do think that is an issue but I don't think this is the right approach.

I admire how he's taking action for immigration reform, but I have to disagree with the direction he's taking.  Why make Mexico pay when it's HIS problem, hence making it America's problem as well.

Presumably because the corrupt Mexican government has benefited tremendously from remittances sent from undocumented immigrants from the US to Mex ($23 billion). And that's money that will probably never be recovered.

no if something is alien or someone is an alien it simply means it or they are foreign or strange to that country. It's demonizing anything. If you go to a new country, you're an alien. Sting is a legal alien in New York

It's a legal definition. Stop getting offended by it. I understand how SOME use it as an insult but the word itself is just a legal definition. Don't waste your time being offended by it.
