Are you going to get into the tiniest detail of a description of an award title to investigate whether it reflects Gaga's talent or not? Because everyone gets the same general impression except for you, that is this award recognizes both Gaga's iconic status in pop culture but also her song-writing ability. This award was conferred by the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME.   The description however said "songwriter-artists who attained..." meaning that recipients of this award had to attain the status in pop culture by way of SONGWRITING.

Anyway, even if Gaga didn't get that award we all know how talented she is in writing her own music.

no boo, they just had to achieve an iconic status in pop culture whilst being a song writer, not because of their song-writing

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Radio Ga Ga

They are known for making ****ty lists. Their top 100 pop songs in the history of music has one song in the 2000's and 0 in the 2010's. It's pathetic how some people give into the stupid idea that all music this century sucks. It's just simply not true that all good music is old  :saladga:

The Contemporary Icon Award was established in 2015 to recognize songwriter-artists who attained an iconic status in pop culture.

That award has nothing to do with the quality of songwriting.

2nd time you reply with a laughing emoji to a presented fact. Save me the quote if you haven't got a good argument.

there were a lot of ****ty songs back in the day, too. the thing is, the great songs from back then are remembered today. some of Gaga's songs are probably gonna be remembered too, in the future

first of all, this list is complete crap. It's so dude-filled, there's probably only 10 women out of 100 people mentioned in the whole list!

John Lennon #3? AFTER Paul McCartney AND Bob Dylan? Ummmmmm... NO.

Kanye West is included in this list? Well that just goes and completely disqualifies the entire list to begin with.

At least Joni Mitchell was included in the top 10 and at least Bjork & Patti Smith were included.

And at least Stevie Wonder was in the top 10.

No mention of Ani DiFranco. smh.

Fact and Interpretation of that fact are two different things.

Your interpretation of the facts are hysterical. None of the awards presented by The Songwriters Hall of fame have "quality of songwriting in their titles". It is assumed because it come from a prestigious organization.

'Commenting on the selection of Lady Gaga as the award recipient, SHOF President & CEO Linda Moran said, “It could be said that this honor was created with Lady Gaga in mind.  She has enjoyed monumental popularity on the charts, on radio, TV and the Internet, not to mention the continuous press coverage she has generated. She is a consistent hit maker who has surprised everyone by proving to be as adept with the great standards as she is with her own songs. We at SHOF are particularly proud that Lady Gaga performed at one of our songwriter showcases when she was still known as Stefani Germanotta.”'

Rolling Stone is always paying her dust. They never include her in any of their lists (as far as I know).

It's nice to see another Tori Amos fan here tho. :hi5: You might be one of the few members on here to get the reference in my username. :green:

ABSOLUTELY!!! :hi5:  I love your username!  What a song right?!  It is refreshing to meet another Tori fan.  To Venus and Back is hands down one of my favorite albums from her.  Such an underrated masterpiece.
