I'm really, really, really impressed.

I'll be honest, I thought it was kind of boring, actually, bad before Gaga hit the screen with the orgy. The story seemed unpromising and the whole start lacked momentum but the second she was introduced, it really picked up.

The Countess and Donovan are the most interesting characters to me. I can't wait to see how their story develops.

I guess my only complaint with what I've seen so far is I think it would be better as a more realistic horror/crime/thriller about an old seedy hotel used for hookups, s-x parties and criminal activities without the odd random fantasy parts. The drilldo creature thing, weird bed creature man and the games room was a little meh to me?

I have to say.... Gaga blew me away.

Just finished watching and my god was it sooooooooo good. Gaga is the perfect fit! can't wait for the next episode.

The rape scene might've seemed unnecessary but so do a lot of things in AHS. It's in there to make you feel uncomfortable and disturbed, to provoke you. I'm sure there's reason behind it, but we may not find out until later in the season. I don't think Gaga would've been apart of something like that if it had no intention too, ya know?

I am incredibly impressed with not only Gaga but the entire season.  Definitely a steep improvement over Freak Show.  I can't even put into words how perfectly Lady Gaga was cast as Elizabeth...

Honestly having just come off the whole "Till It Happens To You" vibe , to see this was utterly offputting and insensitive to the entire concept.

Gaga her scenes were good, perhaps the orgy was even the best part of the whole episode.

In general it was all too much tho. Not every door needs to show a monster behind it. They need to chill a bit, do things a little more subtle at times like in Murder House.

It comes across very abrasive and slightly distasteful but I think it may be acting as a metaphor currently. The victims that were impaled and glued to each other on the bed were both d--gged and I think a lot of the more far-fetched and fantasy things we have seen at the moment are all hallucinations such as the games room, the drilldo creature that done the raping and the bed monster?

There's too many loose ends concerning all of these moments so I'm currently assuming it will be linked to the d--gging of these people.
