First, I'll say what I thought about Gaga in the show.

I loved it. I wasn't skeptical, but I was wondering if she was going to be a little more dramatic since she's a former theatre student. No, she was great. Her introduction was fantastic, I was expecting Ryan to do a dumb cheesy "Zoom in on Gagz and make it apparent how important The Countess is." I thought her lines fit her well and the whole time I wasn't getting Gaga vibes, which is GREAT. She was a new person and it was so interesting seeing this happen. Seeing your favorite musician act and do something we've never seen before was so exciting. I cannot wait to see more about Elizabeth's past. Also, I CAN'T GET OVER HER LOOK IN THE FLASHBACK SCENE WITH MATT. The eyebrows, the hair. I was about to scream TFM teas. it makes me sad they're making her look a lot older in the current scenes. I think her and Matt have incredible chemistry and they make a great on screen couple, I am really excited to see more scenes of their interaction.

Now, onto the actual show.. I don't know how to feel. Some of the scenes were great, while some had me cringing. The drill dildo?! Come on, Ryan. He's just TRYING to make scenes now that are controversial, and I don't like it. It made me uncomfortable, tbh. Chloe Sevigny's character...her writing was awful. Chloe is a great actress, but her lines were terrible and the delivery of them I couldn't get over. If the writing just improved, I'd be happier. Besides that scene though and a few other between Kathy and Sarah, I liked it. I like the story line between the detective and I'm interested to see where it goes.

My boyfriend and I were also trying to figure out what room 64 means. He said "Well, the ten commandments are in the intro. What's 6+4? Ten." That sounded a little too Little Detective for me and over the top, but who knows. :udidnt:  So far everyone that gets murdered there has committed a sin. Either way, I gave it a 5/10 and I'm excited to see where this goes.

I'd give it a 5/10. Or maybe a 6/10.

I am not saying it's bad, I can see horror fans quite loving it. But I didn't love it.

For me, some parts were just so cringy and unconvincing... For example, that part in which she reveals a secret white room where she hides her little bloodsuckers. Like, video games that kinda look like they were made 15 years ago, and dozens of f*cking candy... Like, what kind of a child would have such low standards? :air: I would be like "Now, if you want to kidnap me and use me as your blood pump, you'd better give me a PS4, feed me spaghetti every day, also supply me with dozens of puppies, buy me a hang-glider, also pay me 100$ every day, free Netflix, free food, dozens of jelly... And maybe then I will think whether I will let you be a substitute for my mother and my whole family". Like, what kind of a child would trade in their home, their families and their friends for staying in a white cellar, playing video games and eating sugar?! :saw:

Also, the blood just seemed too much light at times, like it would be some tomato sauce, especially when it hit the skin. If you're gonna use lots of blood, at least make it look real every second, by making it as dark as the color of actual blood. Like, I've seen blood puddles in my life, and they are nowhere as light as the liquid they are using in the show. And those blood explosions out their throats also don't seem to be convincing, I don't know.

Also, the scene in which there were detectives and photographers surrounding the bloody couple, it's like, they didn't even try to save the poor guy, not to mention taking the girls body away from him. I feel like they made it that way just for pure shock value. Which wasn't shocking, it was just sad and unexciting.

Not gonna even talk about the drill dildo scene. I can already see parodies being made out of it, in which the guy actually loves getting ****ed and it's just too comic :toofunny: It did disturb me, but it also left me feeling amused. Like a tragicomedy of some sort. If anything, I'd love to make a parody out of it.

Not to mention that Gaga's acting was still quite stiff. The Countess still screamed "Lady Gaga" at times.

What I did love was the style of the hotel. And it doesn't really look that creepy. With more people in it, I think it'd look actually quite cozy inside. I also love Iris and Liz Taylor. I actually don't like Iris as a character, but you know the actor is doing their job very well, when you develop a feeling towards their role.

The soundtrack was marvelous too.

FRANK1991

Idk I'm really not feeling it. :noparty:

Something about it seems so forced. The acting is amazing, but the storyline is very campy. The only scene that truly touched me was the rape scene. That was very intense.

But overall, It just doesn't feel exciting like the other seasons.

Even with the d--g use and s-x, I was left feeling underwhelmed. I hope the rest of the season is better.

I agree.

I've never seen AHS so this is my first time.

Coming from TV shows like Hannibal and Sense8, I didn't find it to be as scary as I thought and the s-x scenes were fun but not as good as the two mentioned above. :hor:They build up suspense and scare but the reveal (or final scare) wasn't scary and kinda left me hanging.

The story moves slowly, a lot happened but it's not actually moving the plot. Everything is everywhere. Maybe this is normal of AHS? Slowly revealing things throughout the episode? It doesn't feel very rewarding when by the end of the episode there's just so many questions but I'm not really interested in knowing the answers anyway.

Gaga looks amazing but I'm not really sold yet (like I still find her to be pretty sweet, maybe a bit mean sometimes :flutter: basically I still see her as Gaga)

But I'll still keep watching because I know it's hard to judge a series just by the premier, some shows just need to take time to sink in and get a feel of it before one can enjoy it.

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

lol

I'm dying because Dylan Mcdermott isn't on this list (but he was in s1/s2), but he looks like this too. So much, my boyfriend who has only seen s1 asked to almost every guy in last nights episode "Is that the guy from S1." :rip::lmao:

You're right. I've watched it all. I think why I have this opinion is based on the fact everyone around me was laughing at it, so its intentions on hitting a viewer hard was skewed. I thought it was horrifying. But I didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Which, might actually be effective horror.

perhaps they were laughing because they were nervous? I thought it was handled extremely well, audacious and brutal and very powerful in my opinion.

Diamond Heart

The episode if give like a 7/10
I feel like the plot is over all the place and quite muddled, but i dont wanna judge too harshly until we;re at least a couple of episodes into the season. I'd say we're probably looking at another FS type of season. Also the rape scene shouldnt have been in the pilot, but a few more episodes into it. All we should of seen from the addiction demon in this episode is the few seconds Lachlan sees it behind the glass door, it wouldve been a great set up and added more to the mysterious horror element.

On to Gaga.....I was slayed. I mean her acting and accent were all over the place at some points and there was a few bum lines here and there but i totally thought she'd be stiff or very monotone, she proved me wrong. Also i love her campy acting tbh, it fits with the show, and with next weeks previews it already looks like shes improving. So im extremely satisfised with Gaga tbh, im very curious to see The Countess's backstory. I know im biased because im already a stan of hers, but im so blown away i think because i set my expectations quite low lmao

But we've only seen one tiny room, there could be a secret room behind every wall. Maybe that was just the pacman room.
