I'm not an horror fan, but when something is good is good. I def can feel more the creepiness than the blood/gore...the latter was so obivious and predictable I didn't feel it

I disagree, boo. I am all for the macabre as long as those who shouldn't see it (ie children) are kept away. I think there is a certain beauty in the AHS genre.

But I also think you're a saint, and I am not a fighter. You have a good day, and I love that we live in an existence that allows such multifaceted opinions.

Hello darling. I've not seen you post in a while! (I must be hanging out in all the wrong threads!)

Yes, absolutely zero children should ever watch this, it will eff them up. There may yet be some sort of symmetry or greater truth to it... I am thinking of skimming it over before I finally crash tonight (sadistic nightmare wish?) (LOL..!)  if for nothing else that to see how Madame Countess has done.

I turned it off at the point some terrifying solid steel dildo with spikes was being hyperrotated into some gay guy's hind end...by an equally horrific whiteslimed monster. (now really, does anyone really need that going into their mind...) Somewhere around 15 minutes in, perhaps. That was at the point my mom walked right out, I calmed her, we agreed to watch something else....

Kinda kicking the can around right now... I might give it another shot, but only for Gaga. If it wasn't for Gaga, i'd not do it at all...

You are sweet. I too, rejoice in the tolerance and acceptance you showed me. I'll try to see what you see is beautiful, too. Compromise....

Cheers, see you around the boards. I'm going to go turn it back on.

Horror is designed to explore what makes us uncomfortable and to make you confront it, the world isn't always flowers and rainbows.

Agreed. I try to avoid it nonetheless. But that's a personal life choice. Why see it in entertainment if you've seen it in reality? Of course everyone's different, one man's trash, another's treasure, etc, etc....

@ChicaSkas

I hope you feel comfort avoiding the show. It seems like you never excepted horror elements? Plus, it is all a matter of personal ''preferences''. Hotel seems to hit your nerve.

For me, I do not have problems with gore elements but I hate jump scares or subtle horror.

It was REALLY good! Better than I expected tbh. I liked how they didn't say too much about the characters, but enough to make you interested. Kathy Bates is SUCH a goddess and Sarah Paulson playing a villain (FINALLY) gives me all the life that I need. The monster-rape stuff was really weird but I hope they're going to explain it better during the season. Also, Liz Taylor ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Denis O'Hare was absolutely stunning. But let's talk about our homegirl Gags. I loved how it didn't look like THE GAGA SHOW but she really felt like part of the cast! Her character was just on the same level of the others and she didn't look like a celebrity guest star but more like a proper actress, part of the show. Her scenes was really good and I LOVE her accent. It's the Countess we're watching, not Gaga.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT EPISODE.

As a horror fan of over 20 years, this was a pretty decent episode!

The rape scene was a bit much but it didn't "disturb" me the way others are making it out to be.

I can't quite figure out if Gagas character is supposed to talk like she's from the 1920s or if that's how she acts...

nonetheless, that s-x scene was one of the coolest horror scenes I've seen in a while.

Someone just has an opinion.

You are expecting something from a show that isn't designed to be the way you want it to be. I don't Enjoy these kinds of shows, so I'm not going to watch AHS. It would be naive of me to expect something different than what has been explained to us from fans of the show, for months now. It would be like me going to a professional boxing match and being upset that people were getting hit in the head. Lol

Obviously, there is a huge audience for all these types of shows... on cable TV, Netflix and HBO...so there is no way this acting role is going to,take her "twenty steps back with the GP". The ultra religious, highly-conservative Fox News types might not like it...but how many of them were going to be big Gaga fans anyhow? Lol

I understand that it is too much for you, as it is for me too...but that doesn't mean that it is too much for those people who enjoy this type of horror.  These kinds of shows certainly aren't for everyone!

I laughed so much! Guess I'm a horror lover after all. When they picked up that couple in the park...hilarious. That couple overacted their shy giggles but that just adds to the fun. Hard to not see Gaga though, but I guess we know all the different sides to her too well.

The s-x scene was a lot tamer and than I expected. Seems I have a sick mind haha.

All the characters are very intriguing and I feel there many more even better episodes to come.

Love the characters, especially Sally and Liz Taylor.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

I really really loved it ! I'm glad they returned to the horror and disturbing thing from the first two seasons !

Gaga was brilliant ! I'm a big AHS fan and she fits very very good ! I'm thrilled to learn more about the Countess.  Her first scene is definitely one of the most disturbing ever in the show !

Mat Bomer is Matt Bomer (show me that ass !) :sara:

I loved Sally and Iris too. Liz Taylor was both creepy and funny.

A very good point to me : they left me with a lot of questions at the end of the episode.

I miss Jessica Lange a lot, and I think she'll be missed until she'll return. But The cast was doing very very good even without her !

Other than this : Am I the only one to see a bit of Jessica Lange in Sarah Paulson's character ?

Well i just watched it all the way through. Gaga does very very well, excellently. The lines about New York City!

This time, i made sure to watch from the laptop rather than the television. Made it easier to skip past, or look away from, the gore. Guess i was a bit harsh on the show, but the show opened very harsh to begin with.

It left me wanting MORE. So I'd say it was pretty good. Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare & Sarah Paulson were all brilliant, as always.

I think Gaga did great. A few lines were a bit off, but she did really well. I can't wait to see her have more lines.

I didn't find anything particularly hard to watch. Overall it was a great first episode. It leaves you with many questions and wondering what happens next.

Honestly the episode was amazing. Even the Gaga-less parts are great. Wes is great eye candy and I'm happy he's the main male lead. I haven't really gagged Gagas acting yet but i mean from what I've seen it's pretty solid. The atmosphere is very creepy and Silent Hill-esq which is perfect. I love it so far.

Oh, and, weirdly, crazily, the hotel owner's preteen son reminds me insanely of our own late friend, Jordan Howe... Blew me away.
